PMQ Pizza's 2025 "15 Brands to Watch" is here! The special report takes a look at 15 different pizzerias, pop-ups or independent pizza operations that, we predict, you'll be hearing a lot more about in the months and years to come. One such brand? Pizza Baby, a two-shop company in Charlotte, North Carolina, that does both "Americana"-style pizza and Roman-style squares. Download the free report here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eeGg8Fnq

As I was writing this week's PMQ Pizza article on using Chat GPT to build a marketing plan, I had a last-second idea: I should record my screen to show how I did this. https://lnkd.in/gqQAMAZF

The rise of non-alcoholic beverages isn’t just a passing trend, it’s a movement reshaping the restaurant and bar industry. At Mellow Mushroom, we’ve seen firsthand how a well-crafted mocktail menu enhances the guest experience, boosts sales, and keeps the Mellow vibes flowing for everyone with recognition from PMQ Pizza. A thoughtfully designed mocktail menu offers: ↳ A more inclusive experience – Whether it's the designated driver, a health-conscious guest, or someone just looking for something fresh and flavorful, non-alcoholic options ensure no one feels left out. ↳ Higher check averages – Guests are willing to pay for quality, even without the booze. ↳ Perfect pairings – Bold, balanced flavors complement the pizza experience, just like their spirited counterparts. ↳ Expanded cocktail offerings – At Mellow Mushroom, any of our mocktails can be spiked with the guest’s choice of spirit, creating an even wider range of cocktail selections. How is your restaurant embracing the shift toward non-alcoholic beverages? Let’s talk trends, innovation, and what’s next for the pizzeria industry. Drop your thoughts in the comments!

One more thing I wanted to highlight from the PMQ Pizza DELCO Report. ICYMI: the report looked at how 10 mid- and large-sized pizza chains performed in delivery and carryout transactions based on 600+ mystery shops by Intouch Insight. There was also data from two c-store brands, which were combined and shown as a benchmark for that segment. This chart is the most important in the entire study, as it shows shoppers' overall satisfaction with each brand. As you can see, MOD Pizza and Blaze Pizza really struggled to win over their customers. Those were also the two brands that were most likely to complete the transaction via third-party delivery, but I bet that doesn't surprise you. ICYMI: The PMQ Pizza DELCO Report published yesterday (link to download in comments). Here's one of the charts featured in it, rating how 10 top pizza chains performed in terms of speed of service as it pertains to delivery. The data was gathered via over 600 mystery shops conducted by Intouch Insight. It's really hard to look away from that Domino's number, which is 15% faster than the next closest brand (Little Caesars Pizza). And, on the more macro level, it's hard to not notice just how much quicker the large chains are than the mid-sized ones. There is a lot more going on here, including things like pizza styles (Jet's, for example, gets a pass here I think based on the fact that it does Detroit-style pies, which take longer to cook). But we dive into all those things in the report, which again, can be downloaded for free in the comments.

The PMQ Pizza DELCO Report, featuring data amassed by Intouch Insight, has officially arrived. Download it here: https://lnkd.in/eah98dEd The report dives into: 🍕 How 10 mid- and large-tier pizza chains performed in the delivery and carryout space in a series of mystery shops. Featured chains include Domino's, Pizza Hut, Marco's Pizza (Marco's Franchising, LLC), Donatos Pizza, MOD Pizza and more. 🍕 How two c-store chains stack up against those pizza chains. One rather stunning statistic: the mystery shoppers were MORE approving of the way their c-store pizza tasted than the mystery shoppers who received a pizza from one of the pizza chains. 🍕 How indie pizzerias and small chains can begin to differentiate themselves in the DELCO space (hint: it has nothing to do with speed of service) Again, you can download the digital report—which includes bonus content not featured in our March print edition!—here (for free): https://lnkd.in/eah98dEd
