Happy Volunteer Month! In 2024, Plymouth volunteers gave more than 1,900 hours of their time through 76 group events and 186 individual volunteer visits in our buildings. From serving meals to leading sewing clubs or offering financial tips, our volunteers create meaningful connections with residents and staff every day. Volunteer events support our mission to end homelessness by building community and helping residents stabilize their lives. Whether it’s bingo night or garden club, these moments of connection remind us: healing happens in community — and our volunteers are a vital part of that. 🤩 Wow! A huge congratulations to Russell Benaroya for completing the MARATHON DES SABLES to raise money and awareness for Plymouth Housing! In an incredible feat, Russell ran 250 kilometers (155 miles) over the course of six days across the Sahara Desert. We're incredibly thankful and proud of Russell, who is a longtime Plymouth supporter, for running on behalf of our organization. He raised more than $10,000 to support Plymouth’s mission of providing forever homes for unhoused neighbors. Thank you, Russell! 🏃♂️🌵

🧼✨ Thanks to our generous supporters, last week’s Plymouth Supply Center (PSC) drive brought in nearly 1,000 donated items for residents! Over the weekend, we received 575 in-person items, and 357 items shipped via our Amazon wish list. From laundry pods to brooms, every donation helps our residents keep their homes clean, safe and comfortable. Having easy access to essential goods via the PSC can go a long way in helping someone find stability after experiencing homelessness. Our supply shelves are now stocked and ready for residents to shop — free of charge. 🧹💛 Don’t forget: The PSC accepts donations year-round on Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m. Check out our website for a list of accepted items: https://lnkd.in/gPezbrWs

This week, we’re cheering on Russell Benaroya, a longtime Plymouth Housing advocate who is taking on an incredible feat in support of our mission. April 4-14, he’ll be participating in the MARATHON DES SABLES (MDS)—a 250-kilometer ultramarathon through the Sahara Desert—to raise money for Plymouth! "What started as a dream a decade ago became a reality last June when I finally said: Now is the time. After arriving in Morocco, I’ll take a nine-hour bus ride to the starting line—bib No. 683, ready to go. Will you follow me on this journey? “This adventure is even more meaningful because of my partnership with Plymouth Housing. The organization provides permanent housing for nearly 1,400 people facing chronic homelessness in the Puget Sound area. Their work is challenging, but it thrives on the support of a caring community. 🗣️ The kids are alright! We’re grateful for the youth volunteers who visited the Plymouth Supply Center (PSC) last week to assemble hygiene kits for our residents, create no-sew blankets, and craft heartfelt cards. 🥹 Thank you, Seattle Academy and TOPS K-8(Seattle Public Schools)! These endearing notes would be a meaningful reminder to anyone and will be especially touching for our residents who have experienced homelessness, as we support them in stabilizing and improving their lives.
