In Sudan, childhood has been replaced with conflict. More than 4.6 million children have been displaced since the war began — leaving them vulnerable, frightened and at risk of falling through the cracks. But in places like Gadarif, Plan International is creating spaces where children can just be children again. Child-friendly spaces offer safety, play, psychosocial support and a sense of routine — helping children cope with trauma and begin healing. 🔗 Read the firsthand account from Sudan by Davis Makori, Plan International’s Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Specialist: https://lnkd.in/eWZTkmSH #ChildFriendlySpaces #SudanCrisis #GirlsInCrisis #HumanitarianResponse #UntilWeAreAllEqual

Growing up in Ecuador, María Eduarda dreamed of becoming a professional dancer. "Every movement, every step to the rhythm of the music was a way for me to express my soul," she says. While participating in a folk dance group supported by Plan International’s Por Ser Niña movement, María Eduarda discovered the power of activism — and a new dream: creating opportunities for girls to lead. Today, María Eduarda is a mentor, entrepreneur and advocate, helping displaced and vulnerable girls in her community build confidence and leadership skills. When girls lead, communities transform. Girls like María Eduarda are proof that investing in youth leadership drives real, lasting change. Let’s work together to amplify their voices, scale solutions and create lasting impact. #YouthLeadership #GenderEquality #GirlsRights #UntilWeAreAllEqual #SocialImpact #LeadershipDevelopment 📸 ©Plan International

The recent Girl Goals report by Plan International, UNICEF and the UN Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI) found that nearly 4 in 10 adolescent girls and young women globally do not complete upper secondary school. Every girl deserves the chance to learn. In Ethiopia’s Benishangul-Gumuz region, Plan International’s PlayMatters project is helping refugee and host community girls heal, learn and lead — using the power of education and play to rebuild resilience and unlock leadership. Education is not a privilege. It’s a right — and a powerful investment in the next generation of changemakers. Let’s break barriers and open doors for girls everywhere. In Myanmar, women and children are lining up in the streets for help. The earthquake destroyed homes, hospitals and access roads — and the humanitarian needs are immense. 66% of maternal deaths already occurred in crisis zones before the disaster. Now, health care access is even more limited, and girls face growing risks of violence and exploitation. Plan International is on the ground providing emergency care, hygiene kits and protection support. We are committed to reaching children, especially girls, with the care they urgently need.
