Our New York studio hosted a Student–Vendor Tradeshow earlier this month to allow local high school and college students to engage with more than 20 industry-leading vendors showcasing #textiles, #furnishings, #sustainable products, and innovative design #technology. More than 100 aspiring young #designers attended the event, where they were able to speak with #vendors, network with our #PEople, and win raffle prizes. Perkins Eastman also raised funds to sponsor high school students to attend a pre-college interior design program at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Thanks to everyone who brought this inspiring event to life, including Marisa A., Wojciech Barnat, Rachel Birnboim, Jarvis Cook, MA Ed (he, his, him), Jean Gath, Lisa Harris, Ty Kaul, Nikki Kudrna , Christine Marsigliano, Allied ASID, Ryan Ng, Laura Schmaeler, Richard Stargill, Jonathan Velez, and Tiffany Woodruff. #PerkinsEastman #HumanByDesign #Tradeshow #Students #Vendors #NYC #Design #Architecture

Senior Housing News explores how Inspirata Pointe at Royal Oaks, a stunning senior living community in Sun City, AZ, that earned first place in the “Independent Living” category of its 2024 Architecture & Design Awards, came to be in its latest article. Designed by Perkins Eastman with construction by Sundt Construction, Inspirata Pointe stands as “a crown jewel for Royal Oaks,” blending the best of #residential and #hospitality #design and offering lush gardens, intimate villas, passive cooling design, walking paths, fountains, and multiple restaurants for the residents to enjoy. “I want to go explore all the outdoor areas and amenities myself,” says Grant Warner, Senior Housing News judge and senior housing practice leader at BKV Group. “The restrained exterior design is very sophisticated. The interior design is stunning.” Royal Oaks COO Gretchen Cobb, CPA, MBA/HCM echoes his thoughts: “We couldn’t be more pleased with how things have progressed.” Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eSxE9Gb2. On Tuesday, Perkins Eastman celebrated the topping out ceremony of Forrestal Elementary School. Designed to foster a sense of #community and support student wellbeing, the light-filled elementary school prioritizes literacy, #wellness, and #sustainability to deliver a premier learning environment for North Chicago-area military and non-military families. “Forrestal Elementary School has built a culture of improving outcomes for both students and staff,” says Josh Bergman, senior associate at Perkins Eastman and project manager for Forrestal. “With the last steel beam in place, the school is one step closer to having a building that reflects this mission with a healthier, more inspiring, and restorative place to learn that is also easier and less expensive to operate.” “It’s an exciting day,” says Cara Kranz, principal at Forrestal Elementary. “[The students] saw where it will be in the building. This makes it real for them. The steel really makes a difference when they see the steelworkers up high putting it in.” The school is expected to open for the 2026-2027 school year. Our studios around the firm supported #InternationalWomensDay last week by proudly showing up in purple, the official #IWD color signifying justice, dignity, and support for women. First established in 1911, International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, as well as a day that promotes #genderequality and raises awareness about issues affecting women around the world. In the spirit of the day, and in honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, PEople in our Pittsburgh, Guayaquil, Austin, and Dallas studios wore their best purple (and purple adjacent) outfits. #IWD2025 #WomensDay #WomenEmpowerment #AccelerateAction #PerkinsEastman #HumanByDesign #Design

Alexandria City High School at Minnie Howard has been recognized with a 2025 Green GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design. The prestigious awards program represents the world’s most important manufacturers and design firms that are paving the way for #sustainable design and #healthy environments worldwide. The reimagined Minnie Howard campus of the Alexandria City High School realizes Alexandria City Public Schools’ vision of equity and a dramatically enhanced student experience across its Connected High School Network, which offers a wide variety of programming for the city’s nearly 5,000 high school students. The Minnie Howard building—an adjunct to the high school’s main King Street Campus down the street—provides new high-performance learning environments for 1,600 students from across the network as they flow between the campuses throughout the school day, enabling #ACHS to give all of them access to Minnie Howard’s innovative programs, curricula, and activities.
