At Parametrix, we're working to ensure future generations have access to the education they deserve. We've partnered with Projecto Honduras to donate laptops to students in need. To date, 45 of our laptops have been e-cycled and given to students in Honduras. Eduardo Escobar is a recipient of one of our laptops. He shared this message, translated below: “Hi, my name is Eduardo Escobar. I live about four kilometers from Jutiapa in La Bomba. I am 30 years old and visually impaired. My doctors say I have about 30% vision in my left eye, and I am almost completely blind in my right eye due to glaucoma. I have been receiving treatment for this condition for 17 years. Right now, I am finishing high school. I used to have a computer that helped me complete a typing program, and I am also about to finish my current studies with the help of a tutor at home. After that, I hope to go to college and study psychology. I am very thankful for this laptop because it will make my life easier. Because of my disability, I really need a device like this to continue my studies. I have been part of an organization for the blind for the past eight years, where I have been learning how to live independently. Thank you so much to the people who donate devices like this. It helps us continue our education, find better jobs, and build better lives.” https://ow.ly/gYMz50VuL7v

A new pavilion in the City of Buckley will honor Dr. Douglas Tait, a beloved doctor and trails advocate who was a founding member of the Rails to Trails Coalition. The project is a public-private partnership between the City and the FOOTHILLS RAILS TO TRAILS COALITION. The pavilion will educate the public on the history of the Foothills Trail and the legacy of Dr. Tait, enhancing the overall experience for trail visitors. As a sub-consultant to BRUCE DEES & ASSOCIATES, LLC, Parametrix provided labor compliance and interpretive signage for the project. Parametrix employee-owner Tammy Seymour attended the groundbreaking on March 24. Congratulations to all involved! We look forward to seeing this new community gathering place come to life.
