As pathology workloads continue to rise, this AI solution brings a new level of scalability and efficiency to diagnostic workflows. Unlike traditional tools focused on a single organ, PanCancer Detect analyzes whole slide images from various anatomical sites and highlights suspicious areas, offering pathologists an additional layer of confidence in cancer detection. In a recent interview with G2 Intelligence, Dr. Juan Antonio Retamero, Medical VP, and SIQI LIU, Director of AI Science, discuss how Paige’s foundation models, Virchow and PRISM, are addressing critical challenges in rare cancer diagnosis. Trained on millions of slides spanning 40+ tissue types, these models have achieved accuracy of 0.937 AUC in detecting rare cancers—outperforming tissue-specific models in certain cases. Demonstrating the potential of AI to help enhance diagnostic precision and efficiency, even for complex and uncommon cancer types. Paige has introduced the Paige GI Suite, an AI-assisted diagnostic tool designed to help pathologists detect and assess over 40 GI-related conditions across the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, and colorectum. Unlike single-tissue AI tools, this suite offers broad system-wide coverage, supporting diagnosis and severity grading of inflammatory diseases, dysplasia, and cancers with high accuracy. It streamlines workflows by pre-screening cases, flagging abnormalities, and pre-filling diagnostic reports—boosting efficiency and confidence.
