Ever wonder how complicated 3D animations can be ❓ It's rarely only what it seems... For what may look like a very simple rotating/dollying animation for Kawasaki Precision Machinery (U.S.A.), Inc., actually required a delicately orchestrated dance of beziered X, Y, Z keyframes along with synchronized pan and tilt motions of the virtual camera. ⏱️ Not only that but the scene also had to be developed so that, throughout the visuals, there were no seams shown but while also minimizing the objects included in the scenes to keep render times as low as possible. And finally, artfully lighting the environment for optimal viewing in 360 degrees around the object, along with perfecting textures and lens specifications to match the desired outcome... ... this amazing breakdown straight from our 3D artist Nathanael Fairbotham's workstation gives just a small window into these complexities of a one-take animation like this. 💡 📈 Each colored line you see is a single axis, with keyframes beziered/curved in just the right places to create the PERFECT movements throughout 3D space! 🚀 🛰️ Come with us in #theozone and go behind-the-scenes of a complex inflation simulation animation for an epic project we completed with Max Space 🙌 ... This project required us to practically start from scratch in rebuilding assets to be able to rig them properly for the simulation. We worked tightly with engineers to tweak CAD/.step files extensively, followed by modifications like retopology, rigging, UV Mapping, modeling, texturing, and sculpting, before we could even provide pre-vis renders for the storyboard of the sim. And, if the details of cloth simulations aren't tough enough already, we also had to take into account the affects of zero gravity on the simulations – talk about a fun challenge! After a few weeks of dialing in the simulations and streamlining the workflow, we had achieved the following result... How did we do?? 🤔 #3Danimation #CGI #productmarketing

🤯 This is how you turn 8 years worth of stored footage into a total rebrand concept that feels fresh but remains consistent and aligned with the new brand identity... ...saving time and money, we were able to sift through nearly 40TB of footage to assemble this rebrand announcement video for The Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce (our longest standing client). This slashed the cost of production tremendously and sped up the timeline to only 3 weeks, start-to-finish, including concept development and the brand new VFX clips that were created by our team in record time.
