The biotech industry’s largest LGBTQ professionals group. Our mission is to empower the LGBTQ community and its allies in biotechnology and affiliated industries. Founded in 2015 and incorporated as a non-profit in 2020, OUTbio has over 1,200 members across all facets of biotech.
Arrakis Therapeutics is a sponsor for OUTbio Boston 10 Year Anniversary. Exciting to be supporting such a fantastic organization in the Greater Boston Biotech scene. We have a couple (free) tickets available for their 10 Year Anniversary event tomorrow (4/17) at SOWA Power Station. If you're interested, PM me.
At our most recent event hosted by Entrada Therapeutics, OUTbio had the privilege of featuring an incredible panel of women scientists sharing their experiences across biotech, academia, and beyond.
From navigating career pivots to leading groundbreaking work in the life sciences, their stories sparked meaningful dialogue around identity, resilience, and representation in science.
We are deeply grateful to our panelists and everyone who attended. OUTbio remains committed to uplifting diverse voices and building community across the LGBTQ+ life sciences ecosystem.

🌈 Want to make a real impact in a young LGBTQ+ person's life? Here's a meaningful opportunity to mentor and connect through shared identity and creativity.
Seeking an LGBTQ+ Mentor (21+) for Maria, a 13-year-old who loves creative expression and good conversation!
Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston (JBBBS) serves all demographics and is recruiting an LGBTQ+ Big for “Maria” (she/her) in the JBBBS LGBTQ+ Youth Mentoring Program. The program pairs LGBTQ+ youth with an LGBTQ+ identified Big (21+) who can uniquely empathize and support a child or teen through similar lived experiences. Maria is a vibrant, bilingual English and Spanish speaking 13-year-old who lives with her family in Jamaica Plain. She would like to be matched with an LGBTQ+ mentor of any age who shares her interest in music, theater, digital art, museums, and animals. She is eager to explore Boston and learn to cook with her BIG. If you are an outgoing, fun-loving LGBTQ+ person of any age who enjoys creative expression and good conversation, this could be a great fit opportunity that can make a BIG difference in the life of an LGBTQ+ Youth. Matches meet 2-4 hours, twice/month, mostly weekends, for at least one year. Match support is provided by master's-level clinicians. A car and a valid license are required. What an incredible way to kick off the year! Our first event of 2025, hosted by Ipsen was a night to remember—great food, a fantastic live band, and, best of all, no need for drink tickets! More importantly, it was a chance to connect, catch up, and strengthen the incredible community we’ve built.
A huge thank you to Ipsen for their generosity and for creating such a welcoming space. Looking forward to more amazing events and opportunities to grow together this year!
