Will Campbell, former Louisiana State University Football player and future National Football League (NFL) draft pick, partnered with Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and the Miracle Children's Foundation for an incredibly special Easter surprise for our patients. Will visited with families and handed out baskets that included an iPad, a comic book signed by New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan, a Cane’s plush puppy and gift card, and more. Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital trauma department recently teamed up with the Sudden Impact program for a powerful mock crash event at St. Amant High School to emphasize the importance of not driving impaired or distracted. Trauma injury prevention and outreach coordinator, Jennifer Gothard, BSN, RN, CPST, helped bring the powerful hospital scene to life, while trauma consultant, Katie Sheets, shared her moving story of losing her father to a drunk driver. We’re so proud of our team for the incredible work they’re doing to educate and protect our community!
