What a week! 🎉 OpenTable just wrapped our annual Restaurant Sales & Service (RSS) Conference in Las Vegas, bringing together team members from across the globe to connect, learn, and celebrate our shared mission: championing the restaurant industry. It was an inspiring few days where we got to hear from some of the brightest minds in the industry, such as James Beard Award-winning chef and US advisor Erick Williams and UK Advisory Board members Will Beckett, Mandy Yin, Alexis Gauthier and Jon Davis. Thank you for sharing your insights and helping us grow. But as always, the true highlight of the week was honoring our colleagues who go above and beyond to help restaurants thrive. From our internal training programs to those we offer our partners, our Learning and Development and Enablement teams’ work touches almost every one at OpenTable and Kayak. So we were incredibly proud when they nabbed the #63 spot at Training magazine’s APEX Awards—rising an unbelievable 42 spots from last year’s awards! OpenTable Australia is proud to announce our partnership with Scarf, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young people seeking protection, and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds by giving them opportunities in the hospitality industry. Co-founded by Hannah Brennan OAM, Scarf provides hands-on training, mentoring and real-world experience, equipping trainees with the valuable skills and confidence to excel in restaurants, hotels, and more. Like the rest of the city, LA’s hospitality industry is still reeling from the impacts of the wildfires. And whether you live locally or across the country, there’s a way you can help. OpenTable has teamed up with Restaurants Care, a local organization that provides direct funding to food and beverage workers who have lost housing or jobs. The best way to help out is to dine out. To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we had the privilege of partnering with UK Advisory Board member Mandy Yin for a special industry-focused Prosperity Dinner at her restaurant, Sambal Shiok. The evening kicked off  with a traditional lion dance to bring good luck, and then guests enjoyed an incredible eight-course sharing menu of Malaysian-Chinese flavours, including Mandy’s iconic Yee Sang prosperity toss salad.
