Today was a bitter sweet day, as we bid farewell to our esteemed and admirable Chief External Affairs Officer and Former-CEO, Tom Mone as he ventures to his next journey with his retirement! I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible leadership over the years. Your vision, dedication, and tireless commitment have not only guided our organization to new heights but have also inspired us all in countless ways. Under your guidance, we have achieved remarkable milestones, fostered a culture of innovation, and built a strong community within our organization as you passed on the torch to our current CEO Prasad Garimella. Your ability to lead with empathy and integrity has left a lasting impact on all of us. Thank you for your unwavering support and for being a source of inspiration and leaving an amazing legacy at OneLegacy. We wish you all the best in this new chapter of your life. You will be greatly missed! Cheers to your next adventure! 🎉

  • April is Donate Life Month and OneLegacy is joining hundreds of organ donation advocacy organizations across the country by cohosting Flags Across America with our hospital partners. We have already held over 12 flag raising ceremonies at local hospitals since last week, and we look forward to participating in many more during the month of April. We want to thank all of our hospital partners and transplant centers who are participating in this initiative. #DonateLifeMonth #OrganDonation

  • Last Thursday, OneLegacy proudly hosted the OneLegacy Symposium: “Foundations of Donation – Back to the Basics for a Better Tomorrow” at Bakersfield College. We welcomed over 100 healthcare professionals, who attended this event to deepen their understanding of organ, eye, and tissue donation and strengthen the systems that make lifesaving transplants possible. We want to give a special thank you to our hospital partners. Your participation, dedication, and commitment to this mission are the driving force behind the impact we make together. Every referral, conversation, and decision shapes the future of donation and gives hope to countless families and patients in need. By revisiting the fundamental principles, we reinforced best practices with the goal of improving donation outcomes. 🔹 Referral Process – The first life-saving step in ensuring every potential donor is recognized. 🔹 Compassionate Family Conversations – Approaching grieving families with empathy and respect to support informed decisions. 🔹 Donor Management – Optimizing medical care to honor each donor’s gift and maximize the number of lives saved. 🔹 Organ Allocation & Recipient Matching – Understanding the process of fair and equitable organ distribution to ensure the best possible outcomes. This symposium was more than just an educational event—it was an opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and inspire change. Attendees participated in thought-provoking discussions, gained hands-on learning experiences, and earned 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to further their expertise in this critical field. From the first session, to the closing remarks, the enthusiasm and collaboration from our hospital partners were truly inspiring. The conversations and ideas shared will help drive real change, strengthening the donation process for years to come. At OneLegacy, we know that our success is built on partnerships. Together, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more effective donation and transplantation system—one that ensures every donor’s gift is honored and every possible life is saved. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Bakersfield! We look forward to continuing this journey together and making an even greater impact in the months and years ahead #OneLegacySymposium #DonationAdvocate #FundamentalsOfDonation #SavingLivesTogether

Last Thursday, I had the honor of leading OneLegacy’s first-ever Bakersfield Symposium at Bakersfield College, bringing together over 100 nursing students and hospital partners committed to advancing organ donation and transplantation. This event marked a significant step in educating and empowering future and current healthcare professionals, fostering collaboration, and ultimately saving more lives. My presentation focused on equipping nurses with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to navigate the donation process. Grateful to all who made this possible, here’s to many more milestones ahead! #OrganDonation #OneLegacy #Bakersfield #HealthcareEducation #SavingLives #OneLegacySymposium

  • OneLegacy had the pleasure of welcoming the organization Reach Out, which brought nearly 200 middle and high school students from schools across Riverside County. Reach Out aims to empower communities by enhancing their ability to foster healthy and safe environments through policy design, partnerships, and collaborations. All the students who attended expressed an interest in pursuing careers in various branches of healthcare. They had the chance to learn about organ, eye, and tissue donation from OneLegacy staff and our ambassadors. Additionally, the students enjoyed a guided tour of our Azusa Transplant and Recovery Center. Today, the students left with an increased sense of confidence and empowerment regarding their ability to advocate for organ donation and make the choice to register. Together, we can save lives. #OrganDonation #Fieldtrip #SaveLives #Education #OneLegacy

  • We are proud to announce significant progress in organ donation and lives saved for 2024! Thanks to 740 organ donors and 1,941 lifesaving transplants, we have achieved a 5.5% increase in lives saved compared to the previous year. Over the past decade, OneLegacy has recorded a remarkable 77% increase in organ donors and a 51% increase in transplants. • To our Southern California community, we are deeply saddened by the widespread impact of the fires affecting our region. Our hearts go out to those who have lost homes, businesses, and loved ones, as well as to the brave first responders working tirelessly to protect and save lives. In times like these, it’s crucial that we come together to support one another. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, donating supplies, or simply checking in on neighbors, every act of kindness makes a difference. OneLegacy stands in solidarity with all those impacted. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will rebuild and recover. Please stay safe, stay strong, and know that you are not alone in this.

APPRECIATION POST: OneLegacy, thank you for empowering me, once again, at the 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float and the events leading up to it. My role in this monumental event as a writer, event, and video producer, and media stakeholder was incredibly specific. I wrote correspondence, created opportunities for media, prepared the honorees, captured and created content with videographers, worked with reporters, and wrote and produced the ceremony for the Honoree dinner. This was my third rewarding year with the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float. I genuinely appreciate the balance of autonomy and guidance provided by our leadership. This support allowed me to dedicate myself to this month-long event while maintaining my well-being. I am proud to be a part of such a passionate and committed team at ONELEGACY FOUNDATION, contributing to a cause that resonates deeply with me.

We’re proud to celebrate OneLegacy and their incredible 2025 Donate Life Rose Parade float, Let Your Life Soar! On New Year’s Day, the float graced the Rose Parade, inspired by the Japanese tradition of Children’s Day. It beautifully acknowledged the stories of six young honorees, alongside others who’ve championed health and well-being or received life-saving transplants as children. A fan and media favorite, Let Your Life Soar received the prestigious Extraordinaire Award—recognizing it as one of the most extraordinary floats in this year’s iconic Rose Parade.
