Over the last decade, trade facilitation reforms have reduced trade costs by up to 5%. By furthering the implementation of ambitious reforms, an additional 12 percentage points in trade costs could be saved. In addition, encouraging further cross-border agency co-operation can facilitate the smooth flow of goods, increase supply chain efficiency, and strengthen economic resilience in an increasingly complex trade landscape. To realise these benefits, governments should 🔹support further reforms to border agency co-operation 🔹 close the gap between the establishment of regulatory frameworks and their implementation in practice 🔹encourage the automation and streamlining of procedures for efficient, adaptable, and responsive global supply chains Discover the 🆕 edition of Trade Facilitation Indicators: Monitoring trade facilitation policies up to 2025 ⤵️ https://brnw.ch/21wRxca #OECDTFIs

This week, Brazil formally expressed its interest in joining the OECD Co-operative Research Programme for Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems (CRP) during a meeting between Ambassador Sarquis J. B. Sarquis and OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann. With one of the world’s strongest national ecosystems for agricultural research, centred in Embrapa, academia and other research institutions, we are confident that Brazil’s membership in the OECD - OCDE CRP will make a meaningful contribution to cross-border co-operation in agricultural research. OECD Trade and Agriculture is honored by Brazil's interest in the Co-operative Research Programme and looks forward to further collaboration: https://lnkd.in/eVdhrx73
