  • 🚨 Salute Our Troops Feature! 🚨 We’re excited to celebrate HAND Construction Project Manager, Sergeant Kenny Henn, in this month’s KSNV TV CHANNEL 3's Salute Our Troops! Kenny, a 13-year United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond, is now making a powerful impact in his community. These days, you’ll find him teaching jiu-jitsu at Assassin Grappling Academy, where he’s helping kids build not only self-defense skills but also self-confidence. Kenny’s journey also includes his work as a Project Manager at HAND Construction, where he helps build low-income housing for those in need. His background in the Marines, where he worked with children in Iraq and other regions, continues to fuel his passion for giving back. We’re so proud to see him thrive in all areas of his life! Watch the full segment to learn more about his inspiring journey. 👏 #morethanahome

  • Did you know that in the last 20 years, 176 households moved on from Apache Pines Family Apartments to purchase their own homes? As the nonprofit leader in affordable housing in Nevada, we aim to give our residents the tools for a successful future. Last Saturday, our residents participated in a Homebuyer's Education workshop led by Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada. They learned about all aspects of affording and purchasing a home: different types of mortgages, down-payment assistance programs, earnest money, what to expect when working with the real estate broker, the importance of getting a professional home inspection, what happens once you’re approved for a loan, and more. Every resident who completed the four-hour workshop now has a Homebuyer’s Education Certificate – valid for one year – that allows them to access one-to-one pre-purchase counseling services with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to really set them up for success. Perhaps most importantly, everyone left with a clear understanding that buying a first home is not just a dream, but an achievable goal with the right planning! Thank you to the NHSSN team, Luis Navarro of JPMorganChase, and Realtor Asael Gonzalez Jr. for an informative and engaging workshop! #morethanahome
