We’re proud to have supplied the electrolyser for the HySynergy 20MW project, now delivering green hydrogen to Crossbridge Energy A/S! This marks a significant step towards large-scale hydrogen production and a more sustainable energy system. Huge congratulations to Everfuel, Crossbridge Energy, and all partners for this milestone. Looking forward to the next steps in the hydrogen transition!
🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Everfuel has successfully completed the first hydrogen delivery to the refinery and HySynergy partner Crossbridge Energy A/S! The #HySynergy I 20MW project is the first facility in our strategy focused on developing large-scale green hydrogen production capacities. This achievement underscores Everfuel’s commitment to advancing the hydrogen economy and contributing to a sustainable future. "First production and delivery of hydrogen to the refinery is a major milestone for Everfuel and Crossbridge Energy, which brings us one step closer to realising our vision of a sustainable hydrogen economy. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the partners and stakeholders and especially our dedicated employees who have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. Together with Crossbridge Energy, we have taken a difficult first step in the green transition. Now society must follow," says Jacob Krogsgaard, Founder and CEO of Everfuel. Finn Schousboe, CEO of Crossbridge Energy A/S, added: "This milestone is not only a significant achievement for us but also an important step towards producing more green liquid fuels for planes, ships, and transportation that cannot be electrified. With hydrogen in the pipeline from HySynergy to Crossbridge Energy, we mark the beginning of what could become a new era. The new era, however, requires that legislation recognises that the use of green hydrogen instead of traditional hydrogen contributes to meeting the current displacement requirements for Danish fuels. We hope and expect, of course, that green hydrogen will also gain value, so it is not just an additional cost but truly kickstarts the transformation of the transport sector with large-scale production.” We look forward to inviting selected VIPs, stakeholders, and partners to an official inauguration event later this year. 📢 Stay tuned for more updates 📢 Full press release here: https://lnkd.in/eTsfeYcf Video interview (in Danish) with Jacob and Finn below 👇 Video w. The EU needs decarbonisation and industrial policies that work hand in hand. Here are some thoughts from our Head of Government Affairs Constantine Levoyannis on the leaked version of the EU's eagerly anticipated Clean Industrial Deal (CID). For more check out our position paper on CID: https://lnkd.in/djyhaXgt
💭 A few pointed H2 related points to share after reading leaked Clean Industrial Deal (due to be published next week on 26 Feb) 👇 🌍 For the first time, we see references to "minimum" local content requirements on top of sustainability and resilience criteria in public "and" private procurement. Even before the result of the recent US election, global trade & geopolitics had left the EU far behind the industrial policies of global players. ❓ Question: how is this going to align with the Net Zero Industry Act implementing act on non-price criteria? We must AT ALL COSTS avoid creating conflicting standards and legislation. A reminder of the Commission's guiding stars from the Competitiveness Compass: "Simplicity" and "Coordination". Please, lets see that in action! 🏷️💶 Reference to product labelling that demonstrates the carbon intensity of industrial products brings us closer to carbon content as the new currency of the energy transition. Products should be rewarded based on their carbon content. The leak goes on to encourage Member States to link product labelling to the design of tax incentives. This is perhaps the closest Europe can get to an IRA style 45V classification system where credit value is awarded based on CO2 intensity per kg of hydrogen produced. ‼️ With tax law remaining a Member State prerogative and energy taxation directive dragging on, we need clear guidance and recommendations from the Commission on the design of tax incentives in order to avoid market fragmentation. Worth looking at the 45V model IMHO. And yes, of course, we need a global standard for measuring emissions (not so simple). 🤔 Interesting reference to preparing the review of H2 delegated acts via a study assessing effectiveness of the H2 framework. Review not due until 2028, legally. Recognition from the EC that there is an issue here and we need to revise earlier? 💶 Funding: 3rd round of the Hydrogen Bank included and state aid allowed for increasing electrolyser manufacturing capacity ‼️ Clear message: the European electrolyser sector does NOT need more money for manufacturing. In 2021, stakeholders feared we would be the bottleneck and now we are at seemingly overcapacity in Europe when compared to demand. ‼️ ‼️ The best way to support electrolyser manufacturers and kick start the clean H2 economy is to support our customers. SUPPORT THE PROJECTS. SUPPORT THE PIONEERS! Focus financing on stimulating the demand side and merge all funds into a one-stop shop, the H2 bank. Simple. 🏦 Lots of emphasis on the role of the EIB in providing (counter) guarantees to derisk renewable energy projects &manufacturers of grid components. ‼️ Electrolyser project developers need a similar scheme, not only to help de-risk the sector and instil confidence but specifically to help crowd-in more insurance companies that are currently very risk averse to the sector and charging higher premiums as a result. #hydrogen #cleanindustrialdeal #eu #renewables

The future of renewable hydrogen is now! Our CEO Håkon Volldal together with CEOs from other leading member companies of the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition urge immediate and bold action to maintain Europe’s leadership in renewable hydrogen ahead of the publication of the Clean Industrial Deal. The EU’s support has been critical to date to building the renewable hydrogen value chain in Europe. But recognition alone is not enough — we need: Fast implementation of adopted legislation and streamlined permitting for RH2 projects To close the cost gap with fossil incumbent alternatives To unlock private financing for large-scale projects through fit for purpose targeted public funding for RH2 and to safeguard industries’ competitiveness To create green lead markets for products made with RH2 To policymakers – your actions now are crucial to the future of the industry. Stay the course and scale up renewable hydrogen! Watch the full video here⤵️
🫵 Renewable Hydrogen Coalition CEOs urge policy makers to stay the course and scale up renewable hydrogen! At the end of February, the new European Commission will publish its Clean Industrial Deal, setting out their plan to deliver Europe’s transition to climate neutrality and industrial #competitiveness. 🌍 Europe has rightly adopted an ambitious legislative framework for #renewablehydrogen for hard-to-electrify sectors. While Europe is leading on hydrogen project announcements, it is lagging on committed investments across the value chain. Bold actions are required over the next few months to boost uptake across the European Union as we enter this critical implementation phase for our sector. We need the following to ensure the competitiveness of the European renewable hydrogen industry: 🟢 Prioritise renewable hydrogen in all measures – focus will ensure impact and scale. 🟢 Fast implementation of adopted legislation and streamlined permitting for projects. 🟢 Close the cost gap with fossil incumbent alternatives by increasing public support, allowing cumulation of funding and leveraging de-risking tools. 🟢 Create GREEN lead markets for products made with renewable hydrogen to help deliver the adopted EU RFNBO targets. 🟢 Build a resilient value chain – turn Europe’s innovation edge in electrolyser technologies into industrial leadership, level the playing field on the EU single market. Policy makers now is the time for decisive action for the future of our industries, cleantech and jobs! More recommendations to come, watch this space.
