As North Carolina highlights #Reentry during #NCSecondChanceMonth, our teammates at the #NCWorks Career Center of Wilkes County will host a special HIRE (Helping Individuals Regain Employment) Event on Thursday, April 24, from 12-1pm. The center is collaborating with Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc. for a roundtable discussion of resources available to employers in working with employees and job-seekers who are in recovery from substance abuse disorders, and who often have related justice involvement issues. Applications for 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award are now open through April 30, 2025, at HireVets.gov. This federal recognition from U.S. Department of Labor honors employers who are committed to hiring, retaining, and training #Veterans. In 2024, 28 NC organization received the #HIREVets Medallion Award. “Transitioning from active-duty military to Veteran status is easier when Veterans and employers engage and connect.
