NAWC represents the regulated, private water companies that 73 million Americans trust to deliver safe & reliable water
About us
Since 1895, the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) has represented the regulated, private water companies that deliver safe and reliable water to 73 million Americans every day. That's almost one quarter of our nation's population. Founded in 1895 by a handful of small water companies, NAWC today has members located throughout the nation and ranging in size from large companies owning, operating or partnering with hundreds of utilities in multiple states to individual utilities serving a few hundred customers. Our members' businesses include ownership of state-regulated drinking water and wastewater utilities and many forms of public-private partnerships.

NAWC sent a letter of support for Jess Kramer's nomination to head the office of water to the Senate Environment & Public Works (EPW) Committee. As a former state environmental regulator, Ms. Kramer brings a unique perspective to the office and the relationship between state and federal environmental agencies.
I am honored to have collaborated with remarkable leaders at the EPA - past, present, and future. Jess Kramer stands out as a commendable and capable candidate to lead the EPA Office of Water. Her exceptional qualities, determination, and leadership skills make her a perfect fit to oversee the Office of Water and drive the objectives of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act. Together with my peers from the water trade association and former Office of Water Director Dave Ross, I extend my full support to this outstanding nominee. Given the pivotal role of this office at the EPA, NAWC urges Senators Capito and Whitehouse, along with members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, to propel this highly qualified nominee for Senate confirmation. #NAWC #EPA #SenatorCapito #SenatorWhitehouse
