The NaphCare Charitable Foundation, Inc. and NaphCare participated in the 2025 American Psychology-Law Society Conference, hosting a symposium to explore the critical topic of involuntary psychiatric medication in jails and the challenges involved in using this important tool to improve care for individuals with severe mental illness. The discussion highlighted the innovative work we are doing to address these challenges and enhance patient outcomes in correctional settings.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Scott Bell work with our team to focus on studies surrounding substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) within NaphCare’s patient population. His expertise will help us identify trends and develop innovative treatment solutions to better serve those in need. 👏

"The research being done by the Foundation is aiming to bring cutting-edge technology to improve decision making and make a difference in mental health care. We want to develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help decide if patients are improving or worsening mentally. With that, we could expand mental health care to more people; mental health care could be triaged on more levels, and we’d have more people to help care for this population. To me, that’s the most exciting thing we can do."
