On Saturday, we had a wonderful kick-off to #MANY25. The Johnson Museum of Art and the Sciencenter hosted our pre-conference workshops sharing ways to engage young audiences and exhibition development hacks! In the evening, our local conference host committee gathered for a wonderful reception with remarks from Sheila McDaniels (Interim Director), Dr. Georgette Grier-Key (MANY Board President, and Sarah Van Anden (incoming Executive Director)!

Today, the Museum Association of New York (MANY) kicked off our annual conference. The organization's position on federal grant cuts align with our fellow museum associations across the nation. Did you know? The Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University was designed by I.M. Pei. Plus, its unique cantilevered design offers stunning views of Cayuga Lake. The collection houses around 40,000 objects! The Johnson Museum of Art will be hosting a number of events at #MANY25. On Sunday night, the Support Museums/Support MANY dinner will be held at the museum from 7PM-9PM. On Tuesday, there are a variety of capstone experiences held at the Johnson Museum of Art from 1PM-3PM. Featuring interactive displays, giving Americans of all ages an active look into our nation’s democratic history. “Voices and Votes” will be on view in the LIM History Museum through April 6, 2025. March 31: Today, the entire IMLS staff was placed on administrative leave, raising questions as to whether the agency will be able to fulfill its legal obligations to disperse congressionally appropriated funding. This move leaves America's museums, libraries, and communities at risk of losing vital resources, programs, and community infrastructure.
