  • Jumu'atul Wida – The Last Friday of Ramadan As we bid farewell to the last blessed Jummah of Ramadan, let us make the most of this sacred day through genuine dua, istighfar, and sadaqah. May Allah accept our duas, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us the opportunity to see many more Ramadans.

    • Jumu'atul Wida
  • Laylat al-Qadr. The Night of Power. “Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (Quran 97:2-3)

  • Congratulations to the sisters of Mu Delta Alpha for raising $8,750 to support women and girls worldwide! The sisters participated in a Ramadan fundraising challenge, competing for a scholarship fund for their chapter sisters. These incredible young women tabled, made posters, held events, and more, and we are so proud of each and every single one. Young Muslim-American women are the future. Keep leading and changing lives! 👏 💪 💗

Young Muslim-American women just raised $8,750 for young girls worldwide. This is Mu Delta Alpha. Not just breaking barriers on college campuses in the first professional Muslim sorority in the USA. But building bridges across the globe. These powerful young women are providing: 💧 Clean water for villages in Uganda 📚 Year-round support for orphanages in Kenya. 🩸 A tangible end to period poverty in the Philippines. And making sure no sister anywhere is held back because of her identity. This is what leadership looks like. Unapologetically Muslim. Unshakably powerful. Unstoppably global. To every sister who fundraised, gave, or showed up: You are the movement. Keep rising. Keep leading. The world needs you.

  • "It was in women where Islam found it's first earthly grounding." Powerful words from our founder Samira Maddox. May Allah rewards us in these sacred nights of Qadr.

Ramadan is not just a month of reflection. It’s a month of revelation—and Muslim women have always been at its heart. From the very beginning, women were present, praying, fasting, giving, and witnessing the holiest nights in Islam. 🌙 It was during Laylat al-Qadr—the Night of Power—that the Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the cave of Hira. When he descended, overwhelmed and shaken, it was Khadijah (RA) who comforted him, believed him, and wrapped him in her arms. She was the first to affirm the Revelation. 💫 Laylat al-Qadr is a night better than a thousand months. And yet, it was in the safety of women that Islam first found its earthly grounding. 🕌 Aisha (RA), scholar and wife of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated the most intimate details of the Prophet’s worship in Ramadan—how he prayed deep into the night, how he sought out Laylat al-Qadr in the last 10 nights, how he wept in prayer. Because of her, we know how to seek this sacred night. 🤲 Women companions of the Prophet ﷺ fasted, prayed Qiyam, gave charity, and made du’a just as the men did. Ramadan was never gendered—it was deeply spiritual, radically inclusive, and communally sacred. In every era, Muslim women have embraced Ramadan as a time of closeness to God—and a reminder that revelation does not bypass us. To the women praying through exhaustion, mothering during suhoor, leading in their communities, and holding vigil on Laylat al-Qadr—your worship is seen. And Laylat al-Qadr may very well be the night you are seen, forgiven, and elevated. To my fellow Muslim women: your presence is power.

Muslim women have always led. Before hashtags. Before boardrooms. Before ballots. We led in the Prophet’s ﷺ time—and we continue to lead today. 📜 Khadijah (RA) was a successful businesswoman who employed the Prophet ﷺ and became the first person to accept Islam. 🗣 Aisha (RA) was a scholar, political leader, and military strategist whose teachings still shape Islamic jurisprudence. ⚖️ Umm Umarah (Nusaybah bint Ka’ab) defended the Prophet ﷺ in battle, shielding him with her own body. Across industries and generations, Muslim women are still showing up. Still leading with compassion, courage, and clarity. Whether in tech, public service, nonprofit leadership, or community organizing—our legacy lives on in every barrier broken, every voice uplifted. To my fellow Muslim women leaders: your leadership is not an exception. It is a continuation. Let’s honor those who came before us by investing in those rising now, especially in Ramadan. 🌙

  • We are proud to have raised over $8,000 to empower women and girls this Ramadan! Want to support us in breaking barriers for women and girls? Check out our website! Link in the comments.

“What is the real cost of being left behind as an orphan girl?” I asked this question to myself at 1 a.m. last night, as the last 10 nights of Ramadan are upon us. The price is paid in ways most people never see. Especially in countries where the system never counts orphans in. Let me share a story: Malyun, a young orphan girl (pictured below), used to wake up early every morning. She would tie a rubber band to the end of her pencil before leaving for school. If she rubbed it hard enough, it would become an eraser for her to use in class. When you have no one to buy your school supplies for you, and the system never takes notice of your needs, you learn to make things work however you can. Imagine girls like Malyun finally start getting the support they deserve. When that happens, everything will change for the better. May these last 10 nights of Ramadan bring you barakah, closeness to Allah (swt), and a chance to meaningfully invest in sadaqah jariyah that lasts beyond this time.
