In early 2024, the Morrison Healthcare team at Mission Health partnered with Food Connection WNC to donate unused prepared food to those in need. Over the rest of the year, they donated over 28,000 pounds of food to share with the community, which is food they also saved from going to waste. Proud moment incoming : During the interview process , I noticed large photos that decorated the halls of Atrium Health Pineville. Each photo was an employee who was recognized by the patients for various reasons. I thought this was an amazing way to show appreciation to the team members who display deep commitment to serving others with empathy and humility. Meet David , our Patient Services Supervisor who was nominated for his patience , understanding and consistent service to the patients. During our leadership huddles , my message to our Food and Nutrition team is our position isn’t just serving food , our services are integral in the healing process of our community. I am beyond proud to be a part of this amazing group of compassionate teammates at Morrison Healthcare and equally grateful that Atrium Health Pineville includes our team in recognition programs. What an honor it is to have a position that enriches the lives of both our teammates and patients.

Maryann Valbuena started her career with Morrison in 1988 as a high school senior looking for a part-time job. Over the last 36 years, Maryann's work ethic has helped her quickly get promoted to various positions, providing vital support to leaders within the company. Her final role was Support Services Coordinator, providing crucial operational and financial support to two major divisions, and her contributions have left a lasting impression on those she worked with. In the past few years, we have been on a mission to implement more sustainable practices in any way possible and be #PartnersForThePlanet. Through our partnership with Chef Works, we were able to source and supply new chef uniforms that positively impact the environment due to their sustainable materials. Each uniform coat is made of 8-11 recycled water bottles, and provides functional, stylish uniforms that, in turn, help the planet. We couldn't let #WomensHistoryMonth come to a close without showing off our amazing chefs selected to participate in Compass Group USA's 2025 Women in Culinary Showcase! 👏 Six female chefs from CCL Hospitality Group, Morrison Healthcare, and TouchPoint Support Services were split into teams and challenged to create a three-course menu, starting with grocery list creation and seeing it all the way through to final plating. The showcase had 30 participants, and our chefs had the opportunity to practice collaboration, communication, and innovation with chefs from other sectors.
