Dr. Neel Shah, MD, MPP, FACOG, is Chief Medical Officer of Maven Clinic, the largest virtual clinic for women's and family health, and visiting scientist at Harvard Medical School. He is the co-founder of the March for Moms Association, a coalition of more than 20 leading organizations dedicated to increasing public and private investment in the wellbeing of mothers, and the founder of Costs of Care, an NGO that curates insights from clinicians and patients to help delivery systems provide better care. His work to build equitable, trustworthy systems of care is featured in the documentaries “Color of Care,” produced by Oprah Winfrey, and “Aftershock,” which is currently streaming on Hulu. The 23rd Annual Sloan Healthcare and BioInnovations Conference is happening THIS WEEK on Friday, February 28th! We are thrilled to announce that Jim Davis, Chairman, CEO and President of Quest Diagnostics will be joining us as our opening Keynote. Jim joined Quest in April 2013 and initially served as Senior Vice President, Diagnostic Services. He was named Senior Vice President, Operations in February 2014 and was elected CEO and President in February 2022. Before joining Quest, he served as CEO of InSightec, Inc., a medical device company. Prior to that, Jim held senior management positions in a two-decade career in General Electric’s aviation and healthcare businesses, including leading GE’s MRI business for five years. Before GE, Jim led the development of strategic and operating initiatives for clients of McKinsey & Company, Inc. Jim holds a master’s degree in management from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in science from MIT and a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Michigan. We are thrilled to announce that Laura Kleiman, PhD, Founder & CEO, Reboot Rx will be joining us as a speaker on the Drug Repurposing panel at the 23rd Annual Sloan Healthcare and BioInnovations Conference on Friday, February 28th!   Laura is the Founder & CEO of RebootRx, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the development of affordable treatments using repurposed generic drugs, AI technology, and innovative funding models. Laura was serving as the Scientific Research Director of the cBio Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute when her mom was diagnosed with a blood cancer called multiple myeloma. While searching for treatment options, she found studies on promising treatments for patients like her mom, but there wasn’t yet proof that the treatments were effective. It was upsetting to learn that no one was running the definitive clinical trials because the drugs are cheap generics being repurposed as cancer therapies, and pharmaceutical companies wouldn’t generate large profits.
