  • We are very grateful to the Holyoke Rotary Club for the kind invitation to present during Tuesday’s meeting. Rotary’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community aligns so closely with our mission at MiraVista. When substance use and mental health treatment is accessible, timely, and compassionate, it not only changes individual lives—it strengthens the entire community. It was an honor to share the work we are doing to expand access to care, and to stand among those who are equally dedicated to making a meaningful difference. Thank you for such a warm welcome and for the continued partnership in creating a healthier Holyoke! Interested in learning more about Mira? Today, we celebrate the humble rubber eraser—not just for its role in school supply boxes, but for what it symbolizes: that mistakes are part of being human, and that we always have the chance to start again. Erasers don’t judge. They don’t shame. They quietly remind us: It’s okay to change your mind. It’s okay to try again. It’s okay to not get it right the first time. In mental health, this message is powerful. So many of us carry the weight of “should haves” and “if onlys.” But healing happens not through perfection, but through compassion—especially the kind we show ourselves. Let’s remember: You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to learn and grow. And just like an eraser, you are allowed to soften the edges of the past to make space for something new. Be gentle with yourself today—and every day. #RubberEraserDay #SelfCompassion #ProgressNotPerfection #MiraVistaCares

  • Continuing our recognition that April is Stress Awareness Month — a time to recognize how everyday stress can affect our mental health, and when it might be time to seek support. Stress is a natural part of life — deadlines, responsibilities, relationships, and even good changes can bring it on. But when stress becomes overwhelming or constant, it can begin to affect how we think, feel, and function. Chronic stress doesn’t just weigh on the mind. It can lead to fatigue, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, and even physical illness. At MiraVista, we want to remind our community that you don’t have to live in “survival mode.” There is strength in acknowledging when things feel too heavy and courage in seeking help. If you or someone you know is feeling persistently overwhelmed, anxious, hopeless, or just not like yourself — it may be time to talk to someone. That first step can be the beginning of healing, and we’re here when you’re ready. Learn more about our mental health services, including direct admission to inpatient care, by calling us at 413-264-3042 or visiting www.miravistabhc.care Let’s use this month as a reminder: Stress is common, but support is available — and recovery is real. #StressAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #WhenYoureReady #WeAreReady #MiraVistaCares

  • Letting Go: Creating Space for What Matters Most At MiraVista, a place of hope and healing, one of our dedicated group therapists, Judi recently guided patients through a meaningful activity centered on letting go—a practice that supports emotional well-being and personal growth. Together, our patients explored this powerful question: What are you carrying that isn’t kind to you, isn’t needed, or no longer aligns with who you are becoming? Whether it was guilt, fear, anger, unrealistic expectations, or negative self-talk, each person was encouraged to give themselves permission to release what no longer serves them. Patients wrote down their burdens and symbolically let them go—through tearing, folding, or placing them into a shared container of release. Letting go is not about forgetting, it’s about creating space. Releasing what weighs us down can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and help us focus on the healing that matters most. At MiraVista, we believe healing often begins not with what we add, but with what we gently choose to leave behind. At MiraVista, every small step toward self-compassion and clarity is honored. Because letting go is not giving up—it’s rising up. And with MiraVista by your side, you don’t have to rise alone. Reach out to Kim at 413-264-3042 to learn more about our Direct Admission process.

  • We were honored yesterday to welcome Amam Saleh, M.D., State Medical Director and Deputy Commissioner for Clinical and Professional Services at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) to TaraVista Behavioral Health Center for a meaningful visit with medical and operational leadership from both MiraVista and TaraVista Behavioral Health Centers. It was a truly genuine and thoughtful exchange, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our work and to listen and learn from Dr. Saleh. His personal and professional commitment to ensuring high-quality, timely access to mental health care was evident in every conversation. His compassion for individuals receiving care—and for those still seeking it—shines through in the way he leads and listens. Dr. Saleh’s visit affirmed the importance of collaboration in advancing behavioral health throughout the Commonwealth. We are excited for the road ahead and look forward to continuing to be an engaged and supportive partner with the Department of Mental Health in the shared goal of expanding access, improving outcomes, and supporting recovery for all. #BehavioralHealth #MentalHealthCare #CollaborationInCare #TaraVista #MiraVista

  • When you're ready, we are ready! At MiraVista, we know that seeking help for opioid use is not always easy — but it is always worth it. That first step toward treatment, healing, and hope can feel overwhelming, and it’s why we’ve built one of the most respected and established Opioid Treatment Programs in Western Massachusetts — to be ready the moment someone says, “I need help.” We welcome people from all walks of life into a space where compassion comes first. Here, individuals are met with understanding, not judgment. Our experienced and dedicated staff provide evidence-based care that includes medication-assisted treatment, counseling, and ongoing support to help each person take meaningful steps toward long-term recovery. We believe in making access to care as simple as possible. That’s why we offer walk-in and same-day access — because when someone is ready, even waiting one more day can feel like too much. And to reduce barriers even further, we provide free transportation within a 25-mile radius, because the path to recovery should never be out of reach. If you or someone you love is struggling with opioid use, we want you to know: You are not alone. Help is here. And healing is possible. Whether you’re ready today or just starting to consider the idea, MiraVista is here for you every step of the way. • A Faster, Easier Path to Mental Health Treatment Accessing inpatient mental health care at MiraVista no longer requires a visit to the Emergency Department. Through the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Roadmap initiative, 24/7 Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) have been established across the state to make mental health support more accessible—right when it's needed and right in your community. MiraVista partners closely with each CBHC so individuals who need inpatient care can be connected directly—bypassing the ER and avoiding the additional steps and costs that often come with it. This process, known as Direct Admission, ensures a faster, more streamlined experience for those in crisis. If you or someone you support needs help: ✔️ Visit or call a Community Behavioral Health Center for immediate evaluation ✔️ Get directly connected to MiraVista for inpatient care—no ER visit required To find your local CBHC, click the link below. To learn more about Direct Admission to MiraVista, contact Kim Lee at 413-264-3042 or klee@miravistabhc.care. • At MiraVista we are honored to recognize Dr. Richmond, our Chief Medical Director, whose commitment to serving others extends far beyond the halls of our facility. In addition to leading with compassion and clinical excellence in the field of mental health, Dr. Richmond also serves as a Reservist in the United States Army. His dual role as both a caregiver and a service member reflects a deep sense of purpose and a remarkable dedication to the well-being of others – whether they are patients in our care or fellow citizens across the country. Balancing the responsibilities of military service with the demands of guiding a behavioral health team requires discipline, strength, and a powerful sense of duty. Dr. Richmond brings all of that – and more – to every role he steps into. His leadership is steady. His compassion is genuine. And his commitment unwavering. This is the kind of dedication that defines the people who choose to work at MiraVista – individuals who go above and beyond to serve, support, and lead. We thank Dr. Richmond for the commitment he demonstrates to those in our care, our community and to our country! #thankyouforyourservice #leadershipinaction #theresmoreatmira
