Feeling Ghosted in Your Job Search? You’re Not Alone. I was recently talking with a close friend who felt discouraged — applying to roles, having great conversations… and then silence. If you're in this spot right now, let me say this: it’s not you. The hiring world is messy. People are overwhelmed. Inboxes are full. Sometimes, even the most well-meaning folks drop the ball. It’s frustrating — and exhausting — but don’t take it personally. And if it was me — my sincerest apologies. Sometimes delays from our clients lead to delays with the amazing professionals we work with. It's never my intention (or anyone I know in this industry) to leave someone hanging or feeling unseen. So please — take it from me: help us help you. Don’t be afraid to follow up. And if you're unsure what to say, try something like: ✅ “Hi [Name], just wanted to make sure you saw my last message. Totally understand if there’s nothing new yet — I’d just appreciate a quick confirmation that it was received.” ✅ “Hi [Name], I hope all is well! I wanted to check in to see if you’ve heard any updates regarding the [job title] role we discussed.” ✅ “Hi [Name], just following up on my last email. I’m still very interested in the opportunity and would love to know if there have been any changes or next steps.” These show empathy, patience, and professionalism — and I promise, most of us in this field truly appreciate the nudge. Job searching is hard. So take care of yourself, keep showing up, and remember: you deserve respect, even in the waiting. We see you.
