Today, we're spotlighting another graduate of our Nurse Residency Program: Tricia Retzer. Her nurse residency gave Tricia a bridge from student to professional nurse. She was mentored throughout the experience by an experienced nurse preceptor, and she took away priceless career and life lessons — don't be afraid to ask questions every day, take advantage of every opportunity to gain knowledge from other areas of the hospital, and, most of all, never stop learning. That mindset helped guide her all the way to her current role as Director of Nursing. Kout Aun's birthday trip to Hawaii turned out to be the beginning of her battle with endometrial cancer. Back home, she turned to Methodist Charlton, where she received immunotherapy, a new alternative to chemotherapy, which Kout couldn't tolerate. The 2025 Methodist Health System Annual Leadership Conference was full of excitement and optimism. During the event — Forward to the Future — we heard leaders share their insights and vision for how Methodist is shaping the future of healthcare.
