Through our Venture Labs we support firs-of-a-kind solutions that build financial and climate resilience. This particular pilot will test stable-coin payments in Syria a country cut off from the global financial system since 2011. Crypto4good with real impactful use-cases
At MCV Venture Lab, we back first-of-a-kind (FOAK) solutions that expand financial access and build resilience in emerging markets and fragile economies. ◾ Why this matters Syria has been cut off from the global financial system since 2011. Despite a regime change in late 2024, funding humanitarian aid remains costly and complex, with cash-based systems posing security risks, high fees, and inefficiencies. ◾ What we’re testing Through our Humanitarian Venture Lab in partnership with Mercy Corps Syria, we’re piloting stablecoin-based payments with HesabPay and Pioneers Innovation for Sustainability and Impact to provide faster, safer, and more cost-effective financial transactions for farmers and agribusinesses in Northeast Syria. By leveraging blockchain, this initiative reduces reliance on cash and improves transparency. ◾ What’s next We’ll track cost savings, transaction speed, and financial access to assess scalability. If successful, this could set a new standard for humanitarian aid in high-risk regions. ▶️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/eJ4YiGGq #HumanitarianAid #FinancialInclusion #Agribusinesses #Syria
