Family-owned "Conscious Angel Investment & Venture Capital" firm focused on helping amazing entrepreneurs in the region.

Sobre nosotros

Conscious Angel Investment & Venture Capital focused on supporting amazing entrepreneurs with impactful projects in emerging markets. We are a small & family-owned firm based in Central America, addressing small and medium sized startups. We focus on startups in the stages of Idea, Pre-Seed, Seed & Early Stage. We partner with entrepreneurs driving conscious projects. We help Startups develop & integrate their business strategy, combining experience & "hands on" support in different areas. We have participated in several cool business ventures, having the opportunity to learn from amazing entrepreneurs & mentors. About Cacao Capital.... The first people to grow cacao trees in Central America were the Maya, one of the oldest civilizations on the continent. They used cacao beans as a currency to exchange food and clothes, as well as for preparing a bitter drink. For the Maya Civilization, cacao beans served as a means of payment and the “divine beverage” was reserved only for the privileged few. So Cacao Capital is a small tribute for our beloved Maya Culture & Civilization.

Bozz is Moving Fast – and This is Just the Beginning! We’re almost closing in on our pre-seed round and gearing up to launch our Seed Round with over $1M in commitments already secured. But that’s not all—big things are happening: ⚡ Expanding to Costa Rica with a major industry player, bringing in 500 Bozz motorcycles to transform urban mobility. ⚡ Launching our distributor strategy in late 2025—a game-changer that will lower our CAPEX while maximizing revenue. ⚡ With these moves, we’re on track to hit an ARR of $1.5M in just 20 months. None of this would be possible without our incredible team, investors, and board members who have believed in our vision from day one. This video showcases our swapping cabinet, a key piece of the puzzle that will revolutionize how cities move. We’re building the future of urban mobility—and LATAM is next. Stay tuned! 🚀 #Bozz #UrbanMobility #EVRevolution

🌍 Exploring Saudi Arabia's Innovation & Entrepreneurial Ecosystem 🚀 A couple of weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in Saudi Arabia’s dynamic innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. From world-class universities to government-backed initiatives and investment networks, it was inspiring to witness firsthand how Saudi Arabia is driving forward its Vision 2030 goals. As part of this journey, I had the privilege of: 🔹 Engaging with the amazing MIT faculty from the MIT REAP - Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program for Workshop 3 and collaborating with the MIT REAP Guatemala team to strengthen strategies for accelerating our own ecosystem. (Follow our Guatemalan page to learn more about the great work we are doing!) 🔹 Visiting King Saud University, where I was truly impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment available to students, empowering them to translate research into entrepreneurial ventures. 🔹 Exploring CODE (Center of Digital Entrepreneurship), a remarkable initiative where the government, alongside key ecosystem players, is fostering a thriving space for entrepreneurs. 🔹 Connecting with Falak Angels, an ecosystem enabler dedicated to supporting startups, investors, and both public & private entities in their mission to develop the next unicorns in the MENA region. 🔹 Visiting MonshaatSA, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority, which plays a crucial role in regulating, supporting, and developing the SME sector in alignment with global best practices. ...and of course we enjoyed our time exploring Riyadh´s history, culture and food! Beyond the remarkable infrastructure and strategic initiatives, what stood out the most was the warmth and hospitality of the Saudi people, who openly shared their vision, work, and commitment to innovation. This experience has reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing across ecosystems. Excited to bring back these insights and continue building stronger innovation landscapes in Guatemala, Central America, and beyond! 🌎 Cacao Capital VC

    LatAm Super Angel + VC

I first met Nicolas Rojas Nino over lunch in Palo Alto in the summer of 2023. 1.5 years later, I am excited to be an investor and partner to Nico, Daniel Ordóñez Rubiano, Felipe G., and the entire Dapta team. Nico was in town in the summer of 2023 for a 500 LatAm boot camp and he shared his initial idea for Dapta (thanks René Lomelí Ojeda and Cecilia Ezquerro Souza for coming to my place!) It was about connectors, workflows, developers, etc. which was far out of my area of focus as an investor.  I did not resonate with the idea but I really liked Nico.  Nico started a software development firm Imagine Apps at age 17, grew it to 70+ employees, and now was starting his second company.  Nico had the rare combination of being highly technical but also very marketing savvy with a large social media following (e.g., 100K followers across platforms). During the lunch I asked Nico a lot of questions and encouraged him to crystalize his value proposition and target customer profile. Fast forward 6 months, we met by chance in Miami.    Nico told me Dapta’s initial idea did not gain as much traction as they hoped so they worked hard to see how to leverage their product for a stronger value proposition.   The team executed a pivot and focused on helping SMBs use AI for sales and marketing.   I was intrigued by their direction but mostly I remember thinking Nico was the type of founder I like to work with:  fast learner, thoughtful, listener, sense of urgency.   Fast forward another 8 months and we met again in Miami on my way to Colombia Tech Week.  We had scheduled a 1 hour meeting that turned into 2-3 hours of deep discussion on how they had evolved since the last time we met, the traction they were seeing, and his vision to build a global company. Although NuMundo Ventures primarily invests in Fintech, Supply Chain, and Proptech companies, I was so impressed with this founder that I made the decision I wanted to work with Nico.   Over the coming months a group of us (Renzo Viale, Diego Bartoli) rolled up our sleeves to learn about Dapta, where early customers were seeing value, and how they were competing vs. all the other AI companies in their space.  During this process, the founders spent a week at my home and met with other founders (e.g., Roberto Peñacastro Ortega, Luis Mario Garcia,Fernando Huerta), learned best practices, and got served breakfast every morning 😀 So what is Dapta? * Dapta is the fastest way for SMBs to use AI for sales, marketing, and operations.  * With a product-led growth strategy, thousands of SMBs around the world use the product.  * Customers start with a small implementation, see value quickly, and then expand their use of the product. I believe Dapta can be an example of a company born in LatAm that becomes a global leader in its industry. The journey is only beginning and I can’t wait to support this team for years to come!

Co Founder & CEO @ Someone Somewhere ⎸ Making Sustainable Procurement a no brainer

What if for next year's Dia de Muertos, a global brand did something different? Exactly one month ago, Dia de Muertos happened. Dozens of brands launched campaigns to become part of the celebration. But most of these campaigns lacked soul. What if for next year, a global brand partnered with Someone Somewhere to reimagine their logo and develop a special hand-embroidered collection, made by artisans from the places where Dia de Muertos is from? As always, we used our AI tools to show the art of the possible. Do you work at a brand that wants to make this happen? Please reach out! Do you know someone who could help us make this a reality? Please tag them here or forward them this message! We are at the perfect time to make this happen for 2025's Dia de Muertos.

Black Friday was huge in Venezuela 🇻🇪 and for Cashea. Cashea was launched 2 years ago to address the disappearance of consumer credit in Venezuela.     Due to high inflation exceeding caps that credit cards could charge, millions of credit card accounts effectively went to $0 credit limits.   Enter Cashea. They launched their Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) service in October 2022 and after a slow start the product took off. Just two years later, this November (2024) the numbers were amazing: $130M+ GMV across over 5K merchants.    These numbers are outstanding for a fintech company in any country but even more incredible when you consider this is Venezuela. Much like Nubank did in Brazil over the last 10 years, I believe Cashea is making financial services more accessible and fundamentally better for millions of Venezuelans. Congrats to the entire Cashea team and especially CEO  Pedro Julio Vallenilla Sosa who welcomed a new baby 👶 to his family earlier this week. And a special shout out to all the Venezuelan founders and startup team members making LatAm better! Nicolás Curat, Ramón Lange Fernández, Arnoldo J. Gabaldón María Fernanda Vera, Juan José Pocaterra Mendoza, Roger Laughlin C, Carlos Garcia Ottati, Rafa León, Daniel Bernardez Oliver, Manuel J Godoy, Jesus Castillo
