MedSource National had the opportunity to attend the Long Island Claims Association LICA Workshop Series #1- Construction Claims, and it was an eye-opening discussion on the increasing fraud risks in the construction industry. With fraud running rampant, its crucial for brokers, carriers, and industry professionals to have a strategic plan in place when handling claims. A huge thank you to Catherine McGrath, JD(Alliant) and Sarah Thomas (Jones Jones) for their powerful presentation on the importance of timely incident reporting- a key factor in mitigating risk and ensuring fair claim resolutions. Additionally, Kristin Thorne delivered an incredible investigative report on staged accidents in both the construction and auto industries, shedding light on the tactics fraudsters use and how we can stay ahead. Events like this reinforce the importance of collaboration and proactive strategies in protecting businesses and policyholders. Thank you Long Island Claims Association for hosting this workshop. As this was the last LICA workshop of 2024, it was a pleasure to be in attendance. It was great hearing from Damien Jonathan Caldwell CEO- ASG National, Tom Sebbins, Executive Director- LRANY on their work with iFRAUD.
