We’re so grateful to our friends at McDonogh School for their continued partnership and generosity! They recently stopped by with a special gift—beautifully packaged pasta sauce made with fresh ingredients from their on-campus Roots Farm. 🍅 Even better? They’re now selling it, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Maryland Food Bank! This delicious sauce is currently available to buy at Santoni’s Marketplace in Glyndon and additional retail partnerships are coming soon. Thank you, McDonogh Roots Farm! #MarylandFoodBank #EndHunger

Earlier this month, Maryland Food Bank President & CEO Carmen Del Guercio sat down with Carolane Williams of Christian Life Church and MFB Speakers Bureau Member Nakia Coleman for a powerful conversation about what it means to center people—dignity, humanity, and lived experience—as we work together toward a more equitable food assistance network. 🎥 Watch the full conversation: https://bit.ly/3RMQel0 #MarylandFoodBank #FoodEquity #EndHunger

The Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA) brought local food to the forefront of hunger relief, allowing #foodbanks across the country to offer more fresh food to families, while boosting revenue for our farmers. Through #LFPA, we received about $4 million every 18 months to purchase locally grown food from our 44 LFPA partners. Maryland Matters spoke with MFB COO Meg Kimmel, as well as one of our partners, Albright Farms, about the impact of this loss. Read the full story: https://bit.ly/4jxiLHl

🌟Employee Spotlight: Say hello to Sean McHale, MFB's Senior Manager of Information Technology. Sean joined MFB as IT Manager nearly two years ago, and he’s been involved in many different projects within the food bank, including our recently-launched "Operation Innovate." Fun fact: Sean has run about 25 marathons as well as several ultra-marathons, and he’s a two-time finisher of the JFK 50 Miler held each November near Hagerstown. Sean also enjoys playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and family. He has three daughters and became a grandfather for the first time last November. Thank you for making sure our systems and technology support every step of our mission, Sean! #MarylandFoodBank #MFBProud #EmployeeSpotlight
