#WATTSUP conference, organized by the Maritime Battery Forum is about to begin and we are already here in Helsingborg, Sweden! Ahead of the event, we wrapped up the final in-person session of the "Managing a Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Onboard a Vessel" course, building on the previous online training. A great opportunity to deepen our knowledge in fire safety, human response, detection, and reaction strategies. A big thanks to OComp for this excellent hybrid course and the maritime battery forum to make this happening. The #WATTSUP2025 program officially kicks off tomorrow, but networking starts this evening—so no time to rest! Being part of this ecosystem provides us with invaluable knowledge and a deeper understanding of this evolving industry. 🔋𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬!🔋 I’m usually quite skeptical about conferences—But this week at #WATTSUP2025, organized by the Maritime Battery Forum, the #ROI was very➕➕ for me as I could LEARN NEW THINGS, which it was one my biggest "must". Here are some key takeaways: ✅ 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 in the maritime battery industry and stakeholders. ✅ The I𝗘𝗖 𝟲𝟯𝟰𝟲𝟮-𝟭 regulation, currently being developed. ✅ The complexity stakeholders face when 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲. ✅ 𝗠𝗶𝗱-𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗠𝗖 cells and 𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗶𝘂𝗺-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲 cells. ✅ Expanded applications for 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬. ✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 & 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴—still a very unclear topic. ✅ Completion of the 🔥👨🚒𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒖𝒎-𝑰𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑶𝒏𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒂 𝑽𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒍 🛳️🔥course, along with the prior: 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒖𝒎-𝑰𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒕𝒔 & 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 ABS training, was a key milestone in my personal goal of gaining expertise in this critical topic in our industry.🧯🚒 ✅+++++++++++++and many more++++++++++++++ It was also great the experience of visiting the 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮, where we literally got inside the heart of its batteries and stepped onto the bridge! ⚡⛴️ An of course, I could 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 with many people equally passionate about maritime batteries and electrification. As has been said—𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 #𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱.
