Recently, SOLES had the opportunity to tour NASA Ames Research Center, and it was an incredibly inspiring experience! 🚀 We got to see the world’s largest wind tunnel and learn about ongoing research in drone traffic management, specifically how engineers are working to develop safe and efficient flight paths for drones to navigate shared airspace. We also explored: - The Mission Visualization Research Command Center (MVRCC), where flight simulations and mission data are brought to life in real time. - The Vertical Motion Simulator (VMS), is one of the most advanced flight simulation tools used to train pilots. It was eye-opening to see the real-world applications of engineering across aerospace, robotics, and simulation.
