Here's what I've observed while helping teams implement templating solutions: 1️⃣ Start small to build momentum Rather than attempting to automate everything at once, success comes from focusing on 2-3 high-value templates initially. This approach makes the challenge manageable and creates early wins that build confidence for more complex templates later. 2️⃣ Plan for your template's versatility To avoid rework, take time to thoroughly consider all applications and variations your template might need to accommodate before finalizing designs. Ask: What's the full range of content this template needs to support? Taking time to think through these variations helps identify potential design constraints before they become implementation roadblocks and creates templates that truly serve your team's diverse needs. 3️⃣ Embrace iteration as part of the journey You likely won't get it 100% right on your first attempt—and that's perfectly normal. The implementation process itself uncovers valuable insights that inform your templating strategy going forward. Each iteration builds your expertise for future projects.
