  • Remote work has its perks, but it’s easy to stay glued to your desk (or couch). A quick walk can reset your mind and boost productivity—your future self will thank you! ☀️🚶♀️

Working from home: where 'stepping away for a break' usually means swapping your office chair for the couch. Take the walk. You’ll feel better, I promise. Happy April!🌸🌳☀️

  • Kicking off 2025 with a focus on efficiency and goal-setting! 📚 Shaun Higgins is diving into Master Your Time, Master Your Life by Brian Tracy—a great read for anyone looking to sharpen their time management skills. In recruiting (and beyond), prioritization and productivity are key to success. What books have helped you stay focused and achieve your goals? Let us know in the comments! 👇

To kick off 2025, Christine Barber and I have been doing a tandem read of “Master Your Time, Master Your Life” by Brian Tracy. Early in my recruiting career, I read another book of his “Eat That Frog”, which was really helpful in my transition to a new industry. This book focuses on efficiency and goal-setting. I’m really enjoying putting my goals on paper and keeping them top of mind. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for some quick ways to see results on your short and long term goals. • The best recruiters know that cold outreach is more than just picking up the phone. A thoughtful approach—calls, emails, social—makes all the difference. What works best for you?

The LinkedIn article below makes some interesting points on cold outreach. In 2024, the average response rate to a cold email was 8.5%. For an unprepared cold call, it was 2%. But with a good script that number jumps to 10%. Utilizing social media can give you a 51% higher conversion rate than those who don't. So what's your preference? 🤔 https://lnkd.in/eKCN7SvY

  • At Lunova, we’re proud to support our team in giving back, whether that’s through donating blood or volunteering. A small act of kindness can have a lifesaving impact. How will you help? #GiveBlood #MakeAnImpact

Let's face it: Most of us don't have lifesaving careers. (𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘰, 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵, 𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘳𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶.) But that doesn't mean we can't save lives. When I was growing up, my dad donated blood to the Red Cross every eight weeks. He was a steelworker, and he worked hard until he was tired, but he always made time for that appointment because he knew the lifesaving difference that it made. Thanks to his example, I'm coming up on 20 years of donating blood every eight weeks myself. Being a teacher and a recruiter may not have put me in the lifesaving business, but volunteering a little of my time and comfort every two months has. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽? • If you are eligible (https://lnkd.in/eA9_Z4fe), I urge you to find a blood drive near you and make an appointment today using this link: https://lnkd.in/eRCSr5pY • Not everyone can donate blood, and if you're unable to, consider how you might support the blood supply by volunteering at a blood drive: https://lnkd.in/ess57Xge • If you're an employer, give your workers paid time off to donate blood or volunteer at blood drives. (Shout out to Lunova Group for not only giving me regular leave to donate but accepting a challenge to collectively donate 25 units of whole blood this year! Linsly School was also excellent about my time out of the building to give blood and they host an annual blood drive in their field house every spring.) We can't all go to work and literally save people's lives. But every single one of us can help out by donating blood (or our time) to ensure that every patient in need has access. (Warning: The third picture is me at a blood drive and it might not be comfortable for you!)

  • 🌸 Spring in Pittsburgh is here! Just like the changing seasons, hiring strategies need a refresh to stay effective. At Lunova Group, we don’t wait for top talent to come to us—we find them. We build relationships with top talent before they’re even thinking about making a move, so when the time is right, the best people are already within reach. If your hiring process could use a little spring cleaning, let’s chat. Because the best teams aren’t built by chance—they’re built with intention. Looking to make the most of the season? Check out this guide to things to do in Pittsburgh in the spring: https://lnkd.in/d9UGRzGb

  • Last week, our Lunova Group team came together in Pittsburgh for a day of collaboration, connection, and a little friendly competition. We started with an in-person staff meeting on key topics, diving into ways we can continue to grow and improve. After a great morning, we shifted gears for an afternoon of indoor mini golf and a game show, which definitely brought out everyone’s competitive side. It was a fun way to wrap up the day and spend time together outside of work. 🎯🏌️♂️ With perfect weather and even better company, it was a great reminder of how valuable these in-person moments are. Special shoutout to our competition winners for the day—Stephanie Valleras, Kristen Edelmann, Shaun Higgins and Toni Fama—who walked away with bragging rights until next time! Looking forward to the next one!
