Lucendi Team is humbled to have won the #microplastic detection challenge! We would like to thank The Water Council, A. O. Smith Corporation, Badger Meter and Watts Water Technologies for the opportunity to participate in this competition. For this challenge, Lucendi team showcased Aqusens capabilities to perform high-throughput microplastic identification in water, which can be deployed for scalable operations in-lab and in-field.

We are pleased to share the success of the Lucendi, Inc. Aqusens platform workshop in collaboration with Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), where researchers and professionals came together to explore innovative applications of imaging technology in marine and environmental sciences. A sincere thank you to Carina Mónico from CCMAR’s imaging for her invaluable assistance in organising this event. Your support was key to its success. During the workshop, we demonstrated the versatility of the Aqusens system across various research areas, including: - Algae Biotechnology: Monitoring algae health, concentration, and contaminants. - Aquaculture: Real-time imaging of live feed and detection of harmful algal blooms. - Water Monitoring: Identifying and analyzing contaminants, including microplastics. - Marine Ecology: Studying phytoplankton dynamics and supporting ecosystem monitoring. We successfully imaged a variety of samples, including those from the Ria Formosa, where we identified copepods and phytoplankton species such as Ditylum. Additionally, we examined gametophytes and various algae species, including Prorocentrum, highlighting the precision and versatility of Aqusens technology across diverse applications. Following a successful exhibit at the #NALMS2024 event in South Lake Tahoe, CA, Lucendi's Aqusens platform was demonstrated to directly sample water from Lake Tahoe, while providing real-time data acquisition and processing. Aqusens enables automated monitoring of water and characterizes objects from 3 micron to 4mm in size. Aqusens AI can be customized to specifically identify and measure concentrations of cyanobacteria, algae, microplastics, zooplankton and any other objects of interest for our partners. https://lnkd.in/gFz5fGvX
