With more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education, Dr. Sharron Herron-Williams specializes in international affairs, leveraging that expertise to foster growth for local universities and students. As a Fulbright Scholar Liaison, she has traveled to five continents on behalf of higher education institutions establishing partnerships and agreements. She has served as a NAFSA regional Board Member, President of the Alabama Association of International Educators, Charter Member and Chair of the Board of Directors for Study Alabama She is currently President of the Board of Directors for Study Louisiana. Dr. Herron-Williams has received recognitions and awards such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major for Justice Award, Fannie Lou Hamer and Kwame Nkrumah Award for Administrative Leadership and Service, NISOD Academic Administrators Excellence Award, and NAFSA Diversity Impact Award. She works tirelessly to improve opportunities, increase participation, and enhance the recognition of valuable contributions from minorities and women in education, business, and international affairs. She was recently appointed as a member of Louisiana District Export Council by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, supporting the very strong state-wide development efforts of Dr. Herron-Williams in higher education exports to international students.
