  • Metro has once again demonstrated its public transit excellence by winning the 2025 American Public Transit Association’s (APTA) International Bus Roadeo in Austin, Texas. Competing against 75 bus operators and 52 maintenance teams from across the country, Metro took home the prestigious title of Grand Champion, showcasing the highest caliber of skill and professionalism in public transit operations. Adding to the victory, Metro’s maintenance team earned first place, further cementing the agency’s reputation for excellence in both driving and technical expertise. The competition, featuring precision maneuvers, safety drills, and repair scenarios, showcased Metro’s commitment to operational excellence. With this outstanding performance, Metro continues representing both itself and Los Angeles on the national stage, setting the gold standard in the transit industry. Join us in congratulating the maintenance team of Alain Gomez, Edward Hinojosa, and Octavio Ortega from Division 13, along with bus operator Juan Navarro from Division 3.
