We’re excited to share that Living Ink Technologies has closed a $3M funding round—and no, this isn’t an April Fools’ joke. Industrial waste and carbon black production collectively drive millions of tons of pollutants into the air, water, and soil each year. With this funding, we’re scaling our carbon-negative colorants and waste-to-value services to address these challenges. By building our first on-site pyrolysis facility and expanding to new biomass feedstocks—from food & beverage byproducts to precision fermentation—we'll also further reduce costs and emissions for our customers. Big thanks to our team of investors Meliorate Partners, Evergreen Climate Innovations, Savia Ventures, Fashion for Good, Norfolk Green Ventures for backing the future of waste-stream, bio-based solutions and supporting our mission to reduce petroleum dependency in everyday materials. What is carbon black, and why is it such a big problem? It’s in nearly every industry—from packaging and plastics to textiles and tires—and it’s made from fossil fuels. Our CEO Scott Fulbright broke it down during a recent event hosted by one of our newest investors, Savia Ventures. In this short clip, Scott shares the impact of carbon black on the planet and how Living Ink is replacing it with a scalable, carbon-negative alternative made from algae waste. Curious how this applies to your supply chain? Book a call with our team to learn more about carbon black replacements that reduce emissions and drive positive impact for your brand. Last month, we hosted a Savia Synapse event where our LPs got to meet the founder of our newest portfolio company, Living Ink Technologies, and hear straight from CEO Scott Fulbright in a live Q&A💭💡. In this first video, Scott explains what carbon black is (hint: it’s in everything🤯), why it’s a climate problem, and how Living Ink is using their carbon negative product to replace it with something way more sustainable — and scalable.

Algae waste + shell waste combine to restore marine ecosystems. 🐚 🌱 We're excited to partner with ReefCircular ApS and WWF, through limited edition Algae Ink™ prints, helping restore damaged marine habitats. 🪸 ReefCircular turns shell waste into bio-concrete for 3D-printed artificial reefs, rebuilding critical marine ecosystems and boosting biodiversity. Similarly, our Algae Ink transforms algae waste into sustainable pigments—renewable wastestreams to drive regeneration. Preparations are being made for the next oyster reef restoration project in Scotland, working with Seawilding, The Kelp Conservation Initiative, and Anemo Robotics, with support from The Marine-Fund-Scotland (The Scottish Government) and The Fishmongers' Company. Every purchase or donation of this special run of Algae Ink-printed shirts, totes, and posters—available through both the WWF Verdensnaturfonden / WWF Denmark web shop and the ReefCircular Kickstarter—directly funds this vital research and restoration work. Congratulations Kathryn Larsen and team on the amazing work so far! #ReefRestoration #CircularEconomy #MarineBiodiversity #SustainableInnovation #WWF #ReefCircular #LivingInk #Algae #ClimateAction #MarineConservation #Crowdfunding #AlgaeInk #SustainableFashion #WildlifeConservation #Screenprinting #RenewableMaterials
