Our Project Supervisor, @Noel Minbiole, shared some #behindthescenes updates on the construction progress at the Van Deusen House, an #historic stone house nestled among our cottages at The Spinney at Van Dyke, a 55+ #ActiveAdult community in Delmar, NY. "Over this year's first quarter, my team's efforts have been largely concentrated on...the renovations on the Van Deusen house - both inside and out. The transformation of the building and surrounding land is considerable. We revamped the building's exterior with new sheathing, cedar shakes, wooden siding and trim. The materials we chose closely matched the buildings original exterior and trim detail and helped us maintain its "old building charm" and unique style. The interior renovation included new sheetrock on the ceilings, new flooring, [a] new upstairs bathroom, new doors, new window and door trim, [and] new paint throughout," shared Noel. Additionally, the site grading performed and the drainage installed by our site contractor at [the building's] foundation will help preserve the buildings unique stone exterior and stone foundation for years to come. The building looks great and is now a modern, well-suited space for [our Maintenance and Landscaping] supervisors' offices.     Our Construction Supervisor, Andrew Watson-Brink, is managing the construction of the impressive new grounds/ maintenance facility. The new building is formidable and ties in beautifully to the Van Deusen house via a newly constructed breezeway that connects the two buildings. Despite being a brand-new building, it sits well next to the historic Van Deusen house.   "It's exciting and gratifying to see it all coming together so tastefully. #Historyinthemaking! The Van Deusen House (formerly known as the Bradt House) is one of the last remaining stone houses in Delmar, NY and situated on the LiveWell Communities #55+ #ActiveAdult campus at The Spinney at Van Dyke. LiveWell Group is working with BETHLEHEM, TOWN OF's Town Historian, Bill Ketzer to help share the historical landmark through research and artifacts found by Hartgen Archeological Associates, Inc.

We value our #community partnerships. It has been a pleasure to support the local Two Little Dumplings and give our residents an easy opportunity to order healthy, fresh and homemade dumplings with free delivery to our Clubhouses. In the winter months we partnered with Two Little Dumplings to offer free delivery to our residents once a month.
