As part of our 2025 Board of Advisors engagement series, we’re gathering for a conversation that gets right to the heart of our mission: building Philadelphia’s future life science workforce. We’ve been asked to volunteer with the Community College of Philadelphia to lend our expertise and guidance as they shape their life sciences curriculum, ensuring students are prepared with the skills, perspective, and readiness to thrive in this industry. This is a chance to share what you’re seeing, what skills matter most, and how we collectively build better pathways to careers for students right here in our city. Event Details: Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2025 Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM Location: Boardroom (M2-01), Community College of Philadelphia Parking: Provided Register here so we can track our Board attendees: RSVP for May 6 CCP Breakfast

A collective industry effort to fight poverty in Greater Philadelphia
About us
Life Science Cares is a collective effort of the life science industry to help address the impact of poverty on our neighbors in the greater Bay Area. Life Science Cares started in Boston in 2017 and expanded to Philadelphia in 2019, San Diego in 2020 and the Bay Area in 2021. Through uniting the human and financial resources of life science companies and industry leaders, we support nonprofit organizations that do the best work in fighting poverty and providing educational opportunity in our community. We work with organizations doing work in the areas of basic human survival (hunger, homelessness, domestic abuse, crime prevention, etc.), education (STEM education, college preparation and college success, educational enrichment and inspiration, etc.) and sustainability (job creation, job training, mentoring, and economic development.) What a night for Philadelphia. Last night’s Jurassic Impact Reception was proof that this industry is ready to lead with purpose. Supporters from across biotech, pharma, healthcare, and beyond filled the room to prove that together, we can create more opportunity and invest in programs that are proving every day we can disrupt poverty. We celebrated corporate partners like Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Harmony Biosciences, and Cytokinetics for showing up in a big way for our city through their partnership and volunteerism. We heard from Rob Perez about why this national movement was started and saw the incredible leadership of Vin Milano, who kicked off a $100,000 match challenge to fuel our work even further. The room was buzzing. The energy was real. And the impact is only just beginning. If you missed the event, you can still be part of this moment. Every gift made will be doubled to support nonprofits tackling poverty in Philadelphia.
