Lennar and Dandelion Energy, a geothermal heating and cooling company, have partnered to integrate geothermal heating into new homes in Colorado. Representatives from Lennar, Dandelion Energy, and Xcel Energy were joined by Colorado Governor Jared Polis at a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the launch of this exciting initiative at Lennar's Ken-Caryl Ranch community. The geothermal systems reduce the need for traditional heating and outdoor air conditioning units, relying on electricity to run indoor pumps connected to underground water loops. The loop circulates water that regulates heat from deep in the ground, remaining around 50 degrees year-round. According to Dandelion, the energy-efficient system can lower utility bills for homeowners to half the price. At the event, Governor Polis praised the initiative, citing the positive impact these systems will have on the economy, Colorado homeowners, and the energy grid. Read more about our work with Dandelion and how geothermal systems are benefiting homeowners in this article from BUILDER Magazine. http://spr.ly/6045FLtXS

Lennar's Central Valley Division and Golden Valley Unified School District celebrated the groundbreaking of Canyon Creek Elementary School at Riverstone, a brand-new school serving students from transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. The new school will be located within Lennar's Riverstone master-planned community. Expected to open Fall 2026, the Canyon Creek Elementary School campus will span 15.7 acres, with seven administrative buildings providing ample classroom and learning resource space that will accommodate up to 660 students. The campus will also offer onsite soccer, baseball and softball fields, with designated parent and bus drop-off areas to ease traffic congestion. “We understand that access to top-rated schools is a major factor for families in determining where to own a home,” said Mike Miller, Lennar’s Central Valley Division President. “We’re excited for this new campus, built by Golden Valley Unified School District, to open and bring another benefit to the many reasons why Riverstone is the ideal family-friendly place to live in Madera.” Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this milestone!

Meet Chris Amaya. Chris began his career at Lennar in 2006, after graduating college, as a Construction Manager in Colorado Springs. From 2006 to 2008, Chris immersed himself in learning and training alongside the Colorado Construction Team. In 2008, Chris transitioned to another Colorado homebuilder as a Construction Manager. However, in 2014, he made his way back to Lennar, joining the Lennar Austin Division as a Construction Manager. After Lennar merged with CalAtlantic in 2018, he took on the role of Area Construction Manager for the Division. By 2020, he was promoted to Director of Construction. In 2021, Chris saw an opportunity for further growth and relocated to Boise, ID, as Vice President of Operations. In this role, he collaborates with teams and department leads about home starts, strategy, and process, ensuring Boise homeowners have a Tickled, Delighted, and Happy Homebuying experience. As a Blue Boomerang Associate (one that starts at Lennar, leaves for a while, and returns), Chris values the opportunities Lennar provides. The Company allows Associates to explore roles that align with their evolving interests and offers the chance to transfer between Divisions. Additionally, Chris appreciates Lennar’s guiding motto of “Do the right things for the right reasons,” noting that the Company consistently prioritizes Associates, Homeowners, Customers, and Trade Partners. Chris’ exceptional leadership and operational expertise have significantly enhanced Lennar Boise’s operational efficiency and project delivery. His ability to lead and inspire his team ensures that Lennar continues to set high standards in the industry. Congrats, Chris! Fun Fact: Chris is a huge Denver Broncos fan and met John Elway – and Diamond Rio – at a celebrity flag football game.
