The recent wildfires in Southern California have left scars across landscapes, communities, and schools. Lives have been upended, homes lost, and the stability that education provides has been deeply shaken. Our friends in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) are navigating profound hardships: Families were displaced, schools closed, and communities disrupted. Air quality at hazardous levels, adding further strain. Teachers and students face urgent needs for resources and mental health support. The LAUSD Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund has been established to provide: ✅ Direct assistance to affected families and employees. ✅ Resources for teachers and students to maintain continuity in education. ✅ Mental health support and the reestablishment of classrooms to restore stability. As someone who has had the privilege of working with LAUSD over the years, I’m calling on all of us to take action.
