🌍✨ This morning, our team had the incredible opportunity to partner with a local primary school for a litter-picking event around Middlesbrough. It was truly inspiring to witness the passion and enthusiasm of the students as they eagerly rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in their community. Their energy and dedication were contagious! However, it was disheartening to see the amount of litter that has accumulated in our environment. Thanks to everyone who participated! Girls Rising at KFCYF! 🙌🌟 I am incredibly proud of my Girls Rising group for creating beautiful positive word keyrings last week! We took the time to discuss the qualities and values that are most important to each of them. Afterward, every girl selected the word that resonated most and encorporated it into their keyrings! 😊 We've been running Girls Rising for two months now, and the growth in the girls' confidence and participation has been amazing to watch❤️ Here are some of the girls' thoughts: - "On Fridays, all I think about is Girls Rising." - "I like having a voice." - "It’s nice having a girls-only space; it brings openness." - "I like being part of a group." Girls-only spaces have been shown to significantly benefit those who are building their confidence, giving them the opportunity to find their voice and feel heard🌟

Exciting news! Today we launched our "Screen to Spoon" programme, and it was a huge success! 🍽️ The young people had a blast cooking and trying something new — meatballs! 🍴 One young person said, "It was delicious!" 😋 - High praise indeed! Girls Rising is an impact program we are incredibly proud of at KFCYF. It's all about lifting young people up, empowering them, and creating a space where they can learn and have fun together. We’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek of our new KFCYF Youth Hub in Middlesbrough, which is gearing up to open its doors soon! 🙌 Our renovations are nearly finished – the sign is up, the furniture is in, and we’re in the process of decorating each room to make it a welcoming space. 🚨 Community Funding Opportunity! 🚨 The KFC Youth Foundation's Community Grants Programme is now taking applications until 14th February 2025! We are offering funding of up to £6,000 over two years to small grassroots organisation (income under £400k) supporting young people who: ✔ Are aged 11-25 and; ✔ in a position of economic disadvantage; ✔ by providing them with spaces that allow young people to feel safe and secure, helping to unlock talent and build life skills, provide mentoring and improve their chances to gain meaningful employment.
