Jasmine Rivers Jasmine is moving on from KeelWorks. She has been the rock of onboarding at KeelWorks for 15 months - it actually feels like she has been with us forever. She is moving on to better pay, and she deserves every success. She has been incredibly reliable and effective. She has responded with equanimity to the frustrated and welcomed hundreds of new employees at KeelWorks in her time. She has contributed to process improvement and supported new staff. I congratulate her for her success and her new employer for recognizing her value.

Resume Support I hold a session every Thursday for anyone interested on resume development. I get that you think you do not need this, but most people are doing resumes wrongly. A good resume anticipates the reader's questions and answers those in the order of important to the reader - so no...your education does not go first. Bold is used as an organizer - not as a Hey! Look at me!! An effective resume supports cognition. An effective resume has substance (very rare in a resume - and those stats you sprinkle on every bullet...they don't help. Five Common Resume Mistakes I have yet to see an effective resume from a recent graduate. Most are blindly following poor guidance. Most resumes are designed to tell what is important to the writer, instead of what is important to the reader. Here are the five most common mistakes: 1) Failure to anticipate the simplest reader questions, like "Do you want THIS job?" 2) Poor formatting; for example: using bold like a megaphone and offering lists in paragraph form. 3) Trumpeting your status as a student (hint: would a recent graduate your first hiring choice?). 4) Presenting information in an order that is inconsistent with reader priority (e.g., Education first). 5) Failing to explain in job bullets how you used the skills you claimed in your skills list.
