Last week at the Creative UK Create Central Growth Summit, I had the opportunity of sharing the story behind MIXD Reality and the pioneering journey of Just Like Me Books—the world's first interactive and inclusive augmented reality picture book. Pitching my passion was both challenging and deeply rewarding. It reinforced that every step in our entrepreneurial journey, even the daunting ones, is a valuable learning experience. The experience taught me that resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to our mission are essential when striving to make children's literature and learning truly interactive, inclusive, and engaging. A huge congratulations to my fellow pitchers Sarah Green, Saffron Houston, Oliver Scott, Michael Ford - you all smashed it 👏🏾 I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the judges and everyone who provided thoughtful feedback. Your support underscores the importance of bold ideas and reminds me that with perseverance, we can transform challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation. And the amazing Creative UK who are the ultimate hype team. You have been incredible on this whole journey and I can't thank you enough. Here's to pushing boundaries, reimagining storytelling, and creating experiences that empower every child to learn and thrive.

Just Like Me & MIXD Reality doesn't just bring storybook to life using augmented reality - it's a game changer for education across subjects and ages. Picture a biology book or revision card: with a quick scan from a phone or tablet, students can explore a 3D model of the human nervous system, zooming in on neurons, watching how signals transmit, or seeing organ interactions up close. This taps into visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles, allowing older students to engage with complex topics like never before. Alongside immersive AR picture books for younger children, Just Like Me & MIXD Reality opens new pathways for inclusive, interactive, and dynamic learning experiences in any home or classroom. What subject did you find challenging in school, and how do you think AR could have transformed the way you learned it?

Surely each of us has at least once dreamed of a book coming to life. I don't mean in the way of a movie where the story is already invented and visualised for us, but in the form of the same book that still tells us a story, leaving room for imagination. Just Like Me & MIXD Reality have created the first interactive and inclusive augmented reality (AR) children's book and we are looking to work with other authors and publishers who recognize the value of Innovation and imagination. Beyond fun and games, AR is revolutionizing the way we learn and interact with educational content. Imagine history coming to life as readers navigate through ancient ruins or science and maths concepts made tangible with interactive 3D models. The interactive nature of AR caters to diverse learning styles, making education more accessible and captivating. Books give us a unique opportunity to not just be spectators, but guests and even participants in the adventures unfolding on the pages. With AR we preserve the important role of books whilst making them even more magical with technology. Here is a snippet of my good friend actor Will Poulter with our augmented reality picture book 'Buster Finds His Beat'. If you are an author, publisher or content creator and you would like to know more on how Just Like Me & MIXD Reality can help you create more immersive storytelling experiences drop me a message!
