We are getting a lot of questions about the Trump Executive Order to increase fertility and #IVF access, so this video is a quick overview. While it's very exciting to see bipartisan support for family building care, this order is still vague on details. I'll share more as we learn it in the next 90 days. Likely, this will attempt to include broader coverage by employers and insurers. Despite this good news, there are three major barriers to fertility access that means we have a very long, complex road ahead: 1) A lack of data to accurately price the cost of a pregnancy. (This is one area where we try to help at Sunfish with our predictive modeling.) 2) System constraints on labs and doctors. 3) Coverage likely won’t be complete for all individuals or all types of treatments (major coverage gaps exist today, even in states with “broad coverage” like MA, and Sunfish sees loan applications from all 50 states). Per David Sable's comment: "We have to be very careful that anything offered up to improve access and improve affordability doesn’t come with strings attached that end up in aggregate hurting our ability to try to get people pregnant." #ivf #fertility #healthtech
