Casa Celina is Senior Housing News's 3rd place winner for the affordable housing category in their nationwide Senior Housing Architecture and Design Awards! “Approximately 1,700 square feet of community space will be accessible to NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) residents and the surrounding community. "The rate of homelessness among older adults has never been higher than today in NYC, and estimates show that we must build 400,000 units of affordable housing specifically for seniors by 2040 to meet our city’s needs.“ Thank you City Limits for publishing this op-ed by JASA CEO Kathryn Haslanger on the City of Yes housing proposal and the ways it could transform construction and development in New York. The need is urgent and changes to zoning laws would allow more affordable housing, like Casa Celina, to be built.
