The Jane Goodall Institute is a global, community-led conservation organization founded in 1977 that advances the vision and work of Dr. Jane Goodall. Each of our impactful programs is rooted in Jane's story and unique approach to looking at the world. Hello from the road with our dear Dr. Jane! Today is Jane's 91st birthday but she is not slowing down. In fact, she insists that she needs to speed up! These photos are all from the past week. How does she do it??! I can barely keep up. But it is such an incredible privilege to be part of bringing Jane's message and mission to people around the country and around the world. Growing up in Moldova, as a youth interested in nature, your books inspired me to dream of Africa. Joining you and your team in 2000 in Tanzania changed my life and gave me hope. On her 91st birthday, we celebrate Dr. Jane Goodall (The Jane Goodall Institute) and the groundbreaking chimpanzee research she began in Gombe, Tanzania more than 60 years ago. Jane's trailblazing discoveries inspired my career and continue to shape how we see wildlife and deepen our understanding of the planet we share—in fact, the Jane Goodall Institute has continued her work in Gombe in what is now the world’s longest-running wild chimpanzee study.
