Regenerate the planet through nature positive solutions to control invasive species
About us
The ISC was started by experience, successful entrepreneurs dedicated to the discovery, development & deployment of sustainable biological solutions to control invasive species, increase biodiversity and address climate change. Invasive species have caused over $2 trillion in economic and environmental damage and are the second largest cause of biodiversity loss. Invasive species are getting worse with climate change. We are currently selling Zequanox(r) for control of invasive zebra and quagga mussels in pipes and water bodies. We have a collaboration with the USGS to finish development of Piscamycin(r), a natural product to control invasive carp and other invasive fish. We have a microbial and plant natural product screening platform, guided by AI and machine learning for discovery of microbial natural products to control toxic algae and aquatic and terrestrial weeds. We have discovered bioherbicide and bioalgaecide candidates and candidates to control problematic crustaceans.

Of great concern is the migration of aggressive and predatory northern pike into redband and bull trout territory, and the increasing likelihood the two will overlap more frequently. https://lnkd.in/giGsw8s6 #climatechange #invasivespecies #invasivefish

https://lnkd.in/gChdGV7R Excellent work on #invasivespecies (invasive thrips and whiteflies) identification using genetic tools to aid in the detective work as to what biotypes are spreading where and why. They used #PCR, along with two broad databases for genetic data of invasive species—Barcode of Life Data (BOLD) Systems and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) Information. Chocolate lovers, it’s time to wake up! Behind every bar. Behind every truffle. And behind every cup of hot #cocoa… There’s a cocoa farmer fighting a silent battle. Have you heard about Frosty Pod Rot? It's just one, but absolutely devastating disease, which is wiping out cocoa farms. 💔 With black pod disease, witches' broom, cocoa borers, and mealybugs forming a cruel alliance... Right now, farmers are losing the fight. It's decrease in crops, their income, and in many cases, loss of their hope. Yet chocolate feeds the world’s cravings daily (I confess!) Are we here to watch or to fight? 🔥 Less talk. More action. 🔬 We need more cocoa research. 💰 Cocoa farmers need more funding. Because without cocoa, there is no #chocolate 🍫

https://lnkd.in/gMuJsmww This is great news! These #invasivespecies are horrible and it will be good to see why they can reproduce at such high rates and are so adaptable.
