About us
The INPACE project is dedicated to create a sustainable and interactive multi-stakeholder Indo-Pacific European Hub for collaboration in digital technologies. Its core mission is to support the implementation of the Digital Partnerships with Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore, as well as the cooperation with India in the context of the Trade and Technology Council. The INPACE Hub aims to establish a long-term expert-driven mechanism for EU-Indo-Pacific collaboration, engaging a broad community of stakeholders across Europe and the Indo-Pacific. INPACE is a Coordination and Support Action Project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Programme starting January 2024.

🚀 The "Critical Applications of AI in Industry, Healthcare and Other Sectors" Workshop at EU-Japan Digital Week continued with a session on AI in industrial automation. Key insights: 💡 Prof. Manabu Kano (Kyoto University) explored AI/ML-driven digital transformation in Japan’s process industries, with a key focus on digital twins in various fields. 💡 Prof. Valentina Colla (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna) provided key insights on critical applications of AI in the metals and steel industry, emphasising proposed approaches and exemplar benefits of AI for metals production and manufacturing. 💡 Dr. Satoshi Otsuka (Hitachi R&D) focused on OT (Operational Technology) x AI safety approaches in Hitachi. His talk emphasised Hitachi's AI safety activities, the implementation of the AI Safety Shell (AISS) concept and architecture, the safety engineering process, and further collaboration. 💡 Dr. Martin Hollender (ABB Corporate Research Center) provided an overview of ABB and its Process Safety. 🚀 The "Critical Applications of AI in Industry, Healthcare and Other Sectors" Workshop at the EU-Japan Digital Week kicked off at Hitachi premises in Tokyo with an insightful welcome from Prof. Sebastian Engell (TU Dortmund University, ENRICH GLOBAL), who highlighted the significance of the Japan-EU Digital Partnership and introduced the INPACE initiative.
