The first IO #APAC Connect in Tokyo has marked a milestone for IO as the first event held in the Asia-Pacific region. Kindly hosted by Rakuten Mobile, Inc. at their headquarters, delegates participated in interactive sessions and gained valuable insights into the work being developed within IO #Labs. The agenda covered key areas such as Private Networks, M2M Roaming, Messaging and the transition from VoLTE to 5G Roaming, with Sanaz Moshirian being present in representation of the Labs Leadership team. There was high interest in evaluating the opportunities of Travel eSIM, AI and APIs, while fraud detection and security were also in the spotlight for this region. Presentations from Nextgen Clearing Ltd, Telna, Rakuten Mobile, Inc. and ROCCO offered insights which boosted the discussions as participants were eager to ask questions and engage in debate. We are incredibly grateful to Tarek Zeid and the Rakuten team for welcoming us and supporting our mission to expand the IO Community across regions. IO.30 #Accreditation Programme is a new industry mark implemented by the Executive Board of IO to reassure Mobile Operators that these vendors meet high standards of service. The programme consists of 3 essential elements: 1. A mechanism for Vendors to be assessed by completing a form where they must advise on over 20 KPIs and submit information about their companies. There is no self-assessment mechanism. 2. Evaluation of the submission (KPIs and documentation) by the vendor resulting in either getting accredited or having accreditation declined. 3. The awarding of a Mark and listing which shows which vendors are accredited by IO. The IO.30 Accredited Vendor Community is Growing! The wholesale roaming vendor sector continues to expand and diversify, with both new and established companies offering specialized solutions. The IO.30 Accreditation Programme was created to ensure high service standards, client care, and best practices within the industry. Getting accredited offers valuable recognition by enabling vendors to earn the IO Accredited Vendor mark, boosting their visibility through listings and promotions within the IO community. Accreditation also provides meaningful industry participation opportunities, allowing vendors to contribute to IO Labs, plenaries, trials, and RFIs. Additionally, it opens doors to exclusive opportunities, such as being eligible for the IO Advisory Board, sponsorship options, and targeted networking events. The accreditation process is simple and clear: vendors first submit information covering over 20 KPIs without requiring a self-assessment. This information is then reviewed to determine accreditation status, which remains valid for one year. Once accredited, vendors can showcase their status, actively participate in events, and benefit from enhanced industry recognition.
