Today, IEDC's Andrea Richter-Garry, Morgan Allen, MBA, Emina I., Sophie L. and Margaret Foley met with students from the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies. The members of our international and entrepreneurship teams discussed their career progressions and explained their roles at the IEDC before answering several questions from the students. This morning at #SEMIEXPOHeartland in Indianapolis, Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Adams joined Michigan Economic Development Corporation CEO Quentin Messer, Jr. CEcD and JobsOhio President and CEO JP Nauseef on a panel discussing the Midwest's momentum in the global semiconductor landscape led by SEMI Americas’ President, Joe Stockunas. Indiana has long been a leader in advanced, smart manufacturing. The Hoosier state has also seen $11.3 billion invested in new EV battery plants, creating thousands of jobs and leading the way for smart mobility. Our history and growth in smart manufacturing and smart mobility have set up Indiana to succeed and be a leader in semiconductors in the Midwest. Sec. Adams highlighted how Indiana is leveraging its strengths while working to upskill and grow our workforce.
